We Have Mousies
found this on the net a while ago. mix some corn powder with some concrete powder. mice eats then gets thirsty has a drink then concrete sets. no more mice. haven't tried this yet. might sound cruel but my birds are more important to my than pests.

Red Budgies
this is just my thoughts but what if? what if somebody bred a red budgie? i know some of you are saying it will never happen. think of all of the new combinations you could have, as well as pink and orange mutations. canaries dont have red in their colour scheme but someone did (not using food dye) by crossing a canary to a red hooded siskin. what if someone crossed a rosa bourke to a budgie? i think one day probably not in our lifetime there will be red, pink and orange budgies. another colour is brown. you would think we would have a brown colour now because we have brownwings. the brown on the wings one day could spread like the black has for the black coloured budgies. what do everyone think?

My New Avairy
I heard that too nut i introduced the birds at the same time so there was no territories claimed. My mum's ex had budgies, finches, quail, cockatiels and red-rumped parrots all in a smaller avairy than mine and they all bred except the cockatiels the male was infertile. I got my red-rump's in their own avairy and i thought about moving my bourkes in with the budgies but she's gone to nest.

My New Avairy
they dont harrass each other and the finches dont enter the boxes. the budgies are now laying eggs but the finches are just paired up. possibly due to the large size of the avairy and having a huge branch on the floor. i'm even thinking about getting a pair of doves for the avairy. i have 2 seed hoppers and 2 water hoppers and 2 fruit hooks in there

My New Avairy
the gaps are covered by wire mesh. i had to make the avairy escape proof for my zebra finchs. took my ages to look for all the small holes and when i did release the birds i found another small gap but now there aren' any gaps left.

My New Avairy
this is the finished avairy, wouldn't have thought it was a woodshed! it's approx. 3m wide x 3m deep x 2.5m high. at the moment there are 19 budgies in here ,having a ball. the birds have a pick of nestboxes or hollow logs, with a large branch from a apple tree on the floor and there are also a couple of black-belly zebra finches, a couple of fawn jave sparrows. my 4 king quails, 1 male 3 female (lucky boy!) just love scratching around the barked and sawdust ground.

Can Budgies Live Wih Other Birds?
if they're happy leave them. i've got my budgies with a couple of zebras and a couple of javas and there isn't any fighting

Budgies Throwing Their Eggs Out
it is a lot safer to have more boxes than birds as some females will choose a box and nothing will stop her from having it as she will kill any babies, smash any eggs and fight with the mum and there will be injuries. i had to put a bird down because she defended her box.

Got My First Creamino:
i had a similar experience years age when i had a YF2 cobalt to a opaline green and i normally got blue babbies but on day i checked the nestbox and got a suprised and saw a red eyed baby with my normal ones. it later left the box a yf albino only to moult into a limey green colour. it was a beautiful bird and now i'm trying to breed some myself ( most of my birds are yf2 and 2 female albinos so i'm hoping to get at least one. breeding a creamino has a better feeling than buying one but an even better feeling when you breed one and the parent birds dont show any signs of what they are carrying.
