New Bird Room
Well just went shopping pricing different thing if we build from scratch. I priced the cement sheeting for the out side walls and the tin for the roof. Just need to work out how much the wood for the framing will cost and then compare it to the garden shed price. Ha ha even priced the glue on lino tiles, sooooo excited. might have a nice floor yet one that is not up and down all over the place So I will have to get some one else to do the cementing as Greg can't do it straight

New Bird Room
Thanks Shannon. We have now talked about wooden frame work just like a house then use cement sheeting for the exterier Greg thought that was a good idea. I thought good too as I can have the 12ft by 10ft that way. But we are still talking and discussing

New Bird Room
Hi all.... GREAT news, Greg is going to let me build or buy a new breed room. I ran it past him about buying 10ftx 10ft garden shed and deck it out how I want it but then he suggested that he might extend his garage and I have the new bit which will be 12ft wide by 10ft long yippy plus high ceiling wow. and PLUS room to move ......over the moon. So far it is only talk but at least I can do something So some type of new breed room is coming my way, so I better start saving. I can't wait but it will be a slow progress over the next few months but that's okay. I actually would love it to be 12ft x 10 ft because that will give me a small aviary too.

Splats Breeding Season To Date
Here's an update on my breeding. I have about 12 new pair down will get pics of them soon maybe as i don't want to upset them. But here is some pics of some of my babies. This nest is that B@#@#% hen the one that attacks there are 2 of her babies in this nest the skys, the green is from another nest. She had 6 of her own with the violet cock. the other are in another nest. and these 4 are from the hen above that are in a different nest, all look sky and one maybe cobalt or violet This grey cinnamon from another nest Sky spangle sitting on perch and relaxed out of my grey and a sky spangle hen who died. on my finger and nervous His sister a grey cinn spangle and she is going to really nice, I only got 2 because I found the hen off the eggs she laid 6 and the first 2 were fertile and were all ice cold and silly me put the 2 fertile ones under another hen and threw the other away now I wished i had of put them under the hen too as the mother died, she ruptured. in the cage relaxed on my finger and nervous these two are from different nest too. I hope you all like

I Need Help
Maybe you can do what we did. This cage here is very similar and Greg has covered in both side to stop the rain from getting in and the added a round about 4 foot flight and it's about 4 ft wide too. we have cockatiels in this as to date I am still nagging Greg to put a roof on the extension for more protection from the weather and other birds pooping in it. Because every night I have to chase Charlie into the covered part she's a bit dumb. But still this is an idea, you can pick scraps of steel up at the tip etc . It could have more shelter (like more tin on the sides too) The door is from the origional part Greg just took if off and put in on the new part This one looks like it is the leaning Tower of piza or what ever it's called But you get the general idea Could be done out of wood too.

Kindie Cage Babies
maybe later on she might come around But in the mean time try him with a different hen and see what you get, the brother here is throughing good stuff just like his dad
-
Kindie Cage Babies
Greg really likes that one, I showed him the photos on here and he saw that one and said wow that is a nice bird and I said his white boy is the dad. I like that one the best too. Forgot to say last year he had 2 young, a white DF spangle and a grey spangle hen just like the one you have bred, and she was a cracker she had directional feather galore but she died at 8 weeks somewhere around there poor little thing.

Updated Aviary And Bird Pics
Yes really important to make sure there is no wire bits sticking up because when we did my baby aviary the year before last to my horror I found a young budgie caught of on the top of the door just hanging by his leg. He was like that all day poor little fella, I was lucky his leg mended but it was almost cut off because the ring got caught on a little tiny bit of wire that was sitting up. It is true to say if there is any danger in the aviary a budgie will find it.
