Dying Budgies!
Condie's crystals is a mild antibotic and you are only ment to put a couple of crytals in about 2 litres of water, The water should only look slightly pinkish. Actually it is really dangerous to give to your birds because if you put to much crystals in you will poison the birds. Please don't use it unless really needed. The only time birds need antibiotic is when they are sick and the prefered medication to use first is sulpha. The plastic is a type of pcv. I use to buy it here at my local hardware store and paid heaps for it but it is much thicker than the one Dave is talking about. I found the one Dave is talking about and it is just as good as the thicker one I bought and much easier to buy. You can buy it at bunnings for a about $11.00 a metre and I attach mine to the aviary by drilling holes and putting small bolts and washers so it doesn't slip through the wire and then a nut to keep it on.

Next Brisbane Auctions?
I agree with Matt, have you got any sulpha, the medication to give to a bird before any harsh medications.

New Bird Room
I can fit 12 feet by 16ft but I really am allowed 10 by 12, BUT Greg reckons 10x 10 which is basically 3x3 is plenty big enough but I think NOT. But seriously I am settling for the 3x3. I went to my nieces 18th birthday party Saturday night and there in the yard was this new steelchief 3x3 shed. I thought beauty so I asked Mick my brother where he got it from plus how much. $495.00 on special till the end of the month. I checked out the size I thought oh yeh it will do just and I checked out the inside to see if I can line it and yep , the best part is it come in panels the 4 sides and roof no putting together from a box. It was funny while I was checking out the inside I saw the ground in there but didn't take any notice but after I fourth trip and also wondering why heaps of people kept going in there. On my fifth trip to have another look at the inside I thought WHAT, here was a greyhound in a big basket and saw blood then silly me relised the poor girl was in labour 3 pups at my last look. ANY way I rang Numurkah building supplies this morning to inquire. And I am ordering a 3x3m with one door because that is what I want and 210 high at wall and 240 at gable. $670.80 dilivered to my place. I didn't get the special price because I wanted to the extra height. He did mention 3 x 3.4 something and $7 hundred and something not including the extra height. which I was so tempted even bigger But I think I can make a small aviary along one side about 70 - 80cm wide and the 10 ft long or mabe even 7ft long as that would give me room for some cages or a sink at that end. Then that leaves me about 200 - 220cm along back wall to put cages and I think I will fit 3 wire cages acroos there with a bit of room between them and I can have 2 or 3 tier of cages, so that will be 6 or 9 cages on the back wall. then On the other side I should have the same space maybe a bit more to fit the same cages again , as you know corners a wasted. But I am thinking on that. On the front wall is the door but on one side of the door I will have a window wich is about a 1mt long and my trophy cabinet hopefully above that. I would like to put a window on the side of the aviary part too. I haven't ordered the shed yet next week if all goes to plan. Oh I found those connect joiners for my aviary. I am also putting a wirly thing on the roof. BUT Kaz you can have a look if you want as I would like bigger but any bigger than what I have looked at new is to expensive for me.

New Bird Room
Looks great. Have you looked on ebay or trading post? I picked up my shed 6x3, 2nd hand for $500, it needed a bit of TLC, but heaps cheaper than new. We also got a 3x3 off ebay for $140. Yes I looked and they are all in Melbourne, can't get them, none around here. I saw a great garage on ebay and I wished, it was I think 7 mts long with pull up door and already disembled ready to go and it had the height I wanted and it only went for $600 and something. BUT Melbourne is to far. The problem with most garden sheds they are only 180 high at wall and I really want 210.

New Bird Room
I am having the same problem Taboo But still trying. This is the shed I want but I am not sure I can save that much money in a short time http://gardenshedsonline.com.au/products/Y..._260A-50-7.html But this is ideal, it is a bit smaller in depth than what i wanted but it has framing so much more solid and it has the height, 210 at walls and 2445 at gable. BUT I AM USELESS at SAVING something always comes up but I think I will settle for this onehttp://gardenshedsonline.com.au/products/Y..._260A-50-7.htmland try and get the extra height. Anyway still trying to save

Expanda Foam
Seems it only a garden type shed I would use foil bord for the roof, very easy to work with and works great blocks out heat. Then you could put ply board up so the birds can't chew. There needs to be a small gap like i think 10mm from roof to foil board then put the ply on. Plus it stops consendation too.

New Bird Room
Yes Yes Yes good news Matthew will weld me a a frame for my shed, one that is in sections. Will seehim tonight so may find out more. BUT he can't do it for a couple of months because they just bought a new home and is trying to sort all that out plus work. I have no patience, when I decide I want something I want it yesterday, SO NOW have have to be patient. It's going to kill me BUT in the meantime we can work on the cement slab

New Bird Room
Gosh this idea of a new breed room is driving me nuts. It's doing my head in. Greg wantes to build but then it will be smaller and shorter in height plus permentant. I want it so if anything happens I can take it with me. PLUS I want the height. I have my eye on a 3mx3m Garden shed and they will make it 210cm for extra $$$ which is good. I have already bought my window because garden shed windows are small and crappy. BUT today I had another brain storm. I rang y son Matthew who is a metal worker (welding , sheet meatal etc) and asked him if he would make me a frame, that is portable, he is ringing back later, he lives in Bendigo. Garden sheds don't have frames and I am worried that t would collapes with the weight of the lining I plan on using. So I am hoping this will be a better option if he has time to do it and deliver it to me. That's my biggest head, I now have a little car with no tow bar, I am so use to attaching the trailer and getting what ever I felt like but I can't anymore and that is driving me nuts. Being in asmall town there is nothing here, need to drive to Shepparton to get stuff. Places like bunnings will deliver but crikey $70. a trip bit expensive i think. Crossing my fingers Matthew will do it and at a good price.

Splats Breeding Season To Date
Thanks Nubbly, I got that cock ready for the young bird shield cut his blue ring off and left the red one on because he was hatched late September and I double ringed. BIG mistake because it was confusing, anyway cut his ring off and he lost his tail feathers that night. So I was soooooo annoyed because the older he gets the better he gets. Can't show him as a young bird next year now. Sorry won't be parting with him as he is a lovely bird and very valuable as normal to my breeding. But if I breed anything like him I will let you know Yes that little fella is going to be nice is a half nephew to the lt green.

Splats Breeding Season To Date
Some more breeding pairs This pair is totally unrelated Clearbody cock, he drops away at the bum this bird so I hope the hen makes up for that Dark green hen This pair , sorry bad picture. Is light green cock and grey op spangle hen, they both have the same father, my wow bird. The cock has good directional feather and blow which the hen lacks, he is stretched in this photo as he was nervous of the flash going off. But he is a good size bird. Remember the sky hen, the crazy one, here she is. I have her in a wire cage with her babies and she doesn't even attck me now, she was just being a good mum. She has 2 of her babies with her and the other 4 are in a different nest. butter wouldn't melt in her mouth now one of her babies a sky cock, third oldes I think The eldest, sky blue cinn op hen second eldest sky blue cinn hen and the nest with 3 left in it

- G & G 2010/2011 Breeding Season
This is going to an interesting thread Nubbly. It's great what you have explained. Lovely birds too. Will be keeping an eye on this thread to see how babies turn out Good luck.- Splats Df White Spangle Cock Breeding
I think they are going to be really good Kaz, you can see that directional feather is there so once they moult they should be stunners. Grey one is still my choice but the sky that was plucked is catching up fast. Very nice.- My New Breeding Season
Nice Kaz look forward to seeing the outcome- Before And After Budgie Photos
Here is a couple of my little gems before sky blue cinn spangle hen middle After Before White DF spangle cock as an unbroken cap after Sky Violet spangle after- The Creation Of My New Breeding Room
Dave These are the cages I have and are getting more soon http://www.lentradirect.com.au/contents/en-us/d5.html. As for letting Greg loose and go for it he has chucked the Mickey again and I chucked one back and now I am going with the Garden shed again. And it really annoyed because I went up see about getting car fixed and I mentioned something about tin to him and he said have a look at this, and wow 8 pieces of galvinesed 12ft long too just what I wanted in excellent condintion, and all he wanted was a slab of VB cans for it. How good is that. BUT I came home and told Greg and he was pleased about it but he wants to frame the bird room with BIG FAT BULKY treated pine post and I said NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. how ugly is that and how would I ever line it out. I told I priced 2 inch square steel and i was going to get that but hen I insisted on it being at least 210 cm on the lowest point and that is when he chucked his Micky oh and aprt from my nooooooooooooooo, you could see him seeing red Aw well at least my garden shed will be 210 tall. but a big whole in my pocket. :sadsorry: And then I need heaps of $$$$$$$ to line it out and buy more cages.- The Creation Of My New Breeding Room
Yep line it out a bit Dave and you won't even see that rust BUT the new shed looks great Dave.... it is simalar to the one I wanted, what size is yours, the one I wanted was 12ft by 10ft, $1337.00 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT And this one http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT But then I decided to settle on this as all 3 sheds I want the wall height at 210cm and that ment extre money, so this one worked out the best for. http://gardenshedsonline.com.au/products/G...3_0m-116-7.html But I only want one door. I rang and inquired. all up with extra height and delivery to my door would be $758.50. But Greg has shucked a mickey and then he mellowed and is going to build my extension but won't be as big so I won't get my new indoor aviary but I am trying to talk him around at doing it the height I want and if he doesn't thast shed is the one I am getting.- I Think Blue Is Dying
Sad, sorry about your loss. problem with budgies by the time you work out they are sick most times it is too late.- Some 2010 Chicks
I really like this one nice width of head and some directional feather which she will have more whne she goes through her moult, good chest and shoulder, back skull. and looks good length above the perch. Really like you can put her on a plain for splats place Always after a good normal and yellow is a place at the moment as I only have one and he is a cinnamon No seriously really nice Matt- Kindie Cage Babies
I hope they turn good- Kindie Cage Babies
Kaz you some little rippers there you have to pleased with them Kaz did you make that feeder if so how about a diagram please- New Bird Room
Hi all. Sad news no new breed room Greg has chucked it and said no but mainly because of how much it is going to cost me. BUT he came around and he said he will make the first part of my old breed room wider by 3 feet and extend it out about 5 feet but I will try and talk him into 6 or 7 feet. So that means a whole new part so it will be about 33 feet log or more the old part he will make wider will be 7 or 8 feet wide and the extension will about 10 or 12 feet wide I hope and think. TO be worked out yet but as he says it will be much more affordable for me this way and I will have enough room for a window and maybe a sink BUT the only downfall is it won't be any higher and that is what I really want but beggers can't be choosers . But I am trying to con him into making the new part a little higher. Will post report as we get going and that won't be long as most the cages in that area are nearly empty. Hopefully I can make it look nice, but at least I will have heaps more room to move around.- Some 2010 Chicks
