Splats Breeding Season To Date
yesterday afternoon checked them again and I thought **** that one has a hole in it and yep looks like the hen or the cock chipped a fairly large hole in one and anyway I thought I would chip away too as I could see the chick and yes it was dead, probably died the day before or that day it still had a day or 2 to go before hatching so now 7 eggs left but none have hatched yet, have my fingers crossed. I have lost 3 chicks from one nest that I transfered the eggs, the first one just died at hatching the second one died trying to hatch and the third the hen squashed. And I was really counting on these chicks as they were from my violet cock. Really annoyed.

Your double factor spangle is a double factor spangle with bad suffusion.

Splats Breeding Season To Date
But it worries me as her head is to narrow for my birds. and I know what's in the background of the spangle, even though Gb got her hen and there were some really good birds in the nest with good feather and size but there were also some crappy little ones too.

Nail Clipping & Crustiness
I use that sand paper stuff once and the poor little birds feet ended up bleeding, never again. I cut my breeding birds nails with nail clippers, just the very end as you must be very careful.

Breeding Hen Eating Eggs
I had a hen here that was eating the eggs or smashing them, first i took them off her once I relised but then I decided to put false eggs in and left he eggs there as she laid and she was right, marbles work the same. I guess she has a go at them and of course they don't break then she gives up and continues laying. Another method is to put eggs under another hen or cut out a hole in the concave if you have concaves and they egg will fall through onto a soft layer of wood shavings or something soft but then you still need foster parents. I would try the marble or false egg and calcium.

Working Holiday In South Australia
Well said Nubbly I have a friend who spent at least 1,600 dollars on 2 birds at aucton from a well none breeder and neither bird will breed for him, the cock hasn't filled an egg with any hen and the hen has been put with other cocks too which are fertile and nothing, I think these birds are 08 birds so the poor guy thinks he has waisted his money and he is only a beginner. But then I believe beginners need to do the hard yard, work their birds up like when I first started my birds were tiny culls but from fairly good stock and then in came my wow bird, an 3 year old for $25.00 and he has set the standard for here. Earlier this year I had a asked a breeder for some birds because his birds are based on a top breeder that I can't afford to buy from even though Bruce said he would sell me a pair at the end of this year but money is the problem and I never asked how much and I am guessing $1000.00 each so I that leaves me out but I will ask him one day how much because you never know. BUT anyway this other breeder with Bruces bloodline, I had lined up to buy some and I was telling a few people about it as I was excited and they all warned me off saying that this breeder does not sell any bird that will breed. I thought that sucked as he would of been ripping off a beginner and his birds weren't cheap either. BUT as you say Nubbly when you are dodgy it gets around.

New Bird Room
Thanks kaz all is good but I did say to Greg tonight when I was really down and feeling sorry for myself, is that I am wondering when something will go my way for a change. I wish. But this is not going to set me back, I will work something out so I can get my new breedroom once I get mobile again and the machanic all paid off. I could always sell some good birds that will nearly do it

Cere Colours In The Nestbox
I Have only bred 32 babies this year todate and over 3/4 of them are hens and that's mainly through the colder months too. So mine differ from you guys too. but I am really happen with my abundence of hens, it's great some are really good. I think out of the 32 I have bred I think there are maybe 3 or 4 that may be culled, and rest are keepers.

New Bird Room
Hmmmm bugger is right Dean, I am so depressed at the moment BUT it could of been worse , I was ment to go to Bendigo yesterday but didn't and it could of happened halve way over there or tomorrow night is my budgie meeting and it could of happened on the way over there and I would of been stuck on the siade of the road in the pitch black terrified and NO one to help. SO on the bright side I was lucky it happened today in broad daylight and was able to get help. So I guess I was lucky I chose to go for a spin today.

New Bird Room
Disaster hit today, breedroom will more than likely be put on hold indefinetley. BLEW MY CAR UP really sucks, thankfully Clearwing came to my aide as I was sitting on the side of the road probably more than 20ks from my town and know one to help. Clearwing loaned me a car for a few weeks, what a friend. Beautiful car at that A hose blew and I didn't know and kept driving until the car just died. smoke everywhere from the engine. Poor car is totally stuffed. Thee machanic is trying to see how much it will cost to fix urrgghhh a new motor aggrhh. He said I have done the head for sure and probably warped it too so not good. I loved that little car that my sond bought me last year. What sucks is that the heat gage didn't show that it was over heating

Budgie Rings
I know it is a pain , there is a young fella who just joined our club but he has wanted to for 12 months or more but the problem is he needs to hid dad to run him around everywhere. I wants to go to auctions but that is hard for him too. BUT at least he has now joined. Oh and he lives in a different town than the club is too.
