Obviously todays friends have a better "eye" for a budgie than yesterday's friends!!! Hence the complete turn around from "poor quality birds" to "birds were outstanding"................. LMAO okay Heath, learnt my lesson, no need to say anymore, some people see things different than others, It's all my fault. I just shouldn't of commented on something I knew nothing about and put no thought into what I was saying. and what does LMAO stand for..............

My frinds told me that there was a bloke from Tasmania there buying for others from Tasmania and he was buying up big, he was getting a headache trying to keep track of everyones orders and how they had spent and how much they had left. They said that there were that many people there and that had bought that the line to pick the birds up was huge. So maybe Kochy you can come over and buy from one one day too.

I just got home from visiting some friends and they went to the auction, they told me that the birds were outstanding, never seen birds so good from one breeder. They said they couldn't believe it that bidding starting at $500. with lacewings, they said every top breeder in Vic was there buying so that says a lot. They bought a couple of lutinos but the one he wanted went for over a thousand. So it sounded like it was a top auction. Oh my friends had a great day out they said very enjoyable. I wished that I didn't have to work because I would of went to, but wouldn't of enough money to buy what I wanted.

What Your Mods And Staff Do Around Here
I have been urging some work in that area but so far nothing. The new system isnt as easy to load up new ones as the old system I wish we can have the old system back, much more friendlier than this new one. and I use to love my emotions

What Your Mods And Staff Do Around Here
You mods do a great job , and I don't think other members should be bullying you for doing your job. I think next time someone says Bull **** to one of you, they should be blocked for a couple of weeks, that will teach them to watch what they say. Hey Kaz when are we getting our much loved emotions back on track.

Radical Changes
Mine all fly too except a couple that have hurt their wings. I think my aviaries face North but a little towards south. They get plenty of fresh air and sunlight.

Nothing sinister at all, Thanks Kaz.

What's On The Bottom Of Your Cage?
I don't use saw dust, I use wood shavings bedding for rabbits etc. Perfectly safe for the birds. I buy it from the pet store.

Normal Grey
Geoff the grey is probably better than the blue because photos can make them you better and worse, see if you can get a photo of them looking at the camera instead of looking down. But you are on your way, it is a slow hard long journey to breeding top exhibitions birds. cheers

Normal Grey
Very nice Taboo, I like the blue the best he looks like he has more width across the face, the spangle is nice too. now you need to focus on directional feather. The lace wing is very pretty.

First Breeding Journal
Hi Maddy, did you get rid of that mice problem. I thought I did here but today I had 8 in the mouse traps in the old birdroom. No birds in there though, rotten little stinkers. I am pleased your breeding is going good. Looking forward to seeing your new aviary name to.

I think i am going Gb, but my heart isn't in it, haven't even started getting my birds ready yet. I have asked for the day off work to go but haven't made my mind up yet, getting a ride with Geoff if i go.

Judge My Showbird Pair
Hi, nice birds to start out with, like the others said, light opaline spangle hen and grey green spangle cock. The hen in my view looks better then the cock, but both are good. The hen looks to have more directional feather than the cock but needs much more. her mask is longer, the cocks is shorter, so the hen should fix that. The hen is flecked which is a fault but the cock looks clean so that is good. The hen has spots and the cock doesn't. Like Kaz said the hen has all toes on front of perch but could be a lazy thing going on also. You should breed some handy babies from these two. You do have a chance of getting Df spangles from the mating. Expectations are 25% Double Factor spangles 50% spangles 25% Normals And seems the hen is opaline and the cock could be split for opaline and cinnamon also. You could get opalines and cinnamons in spangles and normals.

Show Budgie Breeders
Very True Phill, Tazi and Matt. Plus any one can go out and spend thousands on birds if their pocket are deep enough BUT unless they know what they are doing most times it is a waste of money. I know quite a few beginners who want to get to the top fast so spend large amounts of money on quality stock. Where's some one like me starting with someones $20.00 culls, I think i have done quite well to date.

Show Budgie Breeders
Very true, if you are on a limited income it is very hard to be able to afford decent birds. I for one can't afford it. I am stuck breeding with my own birds, which is okay for the time being but next year I will need to buy some quality outcrosses but my income doesn't allow it. So yes where do I go from here. Last year I bought a pair for a couple hundred most I have ever spent on birds 2 birds and the hen has never come into condition, her keel bone is pointy. I am afraid I wasted my money, and I don't have the money to waste. But the cock is okay but the hen is much better than the cock which I was very disappointed about.

The Definitive Meat Protein Debate
Geoff hangs his on the wire (indoor) aviary until it is all gone, so it must not go off.

Genetics
Yep and nature sorts out the nuffies that result - the predators up the food chain need to eat something! PT And yep we sort out our nuffies, (CULL).
