The 2 yellow DF spangles are half brothers, they have the same father, the blue one is violet the photo isn't showing his true colour and he is normal and he does have a little flecking, if he ever grows his tail feathers back he will go well in the show. well I hope anyway. :rofl: The violet and grey green cock have the same father as the Yellow DF spangles also.

either had I Pearce, you could of seen the dissappointment on my face when Greg told me he was grey and yellow face and I proudly said no he is grey green, And sank low when I relised what abig mistake I made BUT he is really a nice strong type bird and he should through me some could young.

this is my basic set up Cages have fronts off as I have finished breeding This is 2 holding or kiny cages and I have my training show boxes on top, I have this setup on the opposit side also in all I have 14 training show cages to train my birds. The colour material is covers I made my boxes to keep them clean when I am not using them.

I ahve a young grey out of a violet hen and father grey green spangle, the siblings were violet and Dark green. Well anyway this grey is much darker than the other greys I have, will try to take a piv tomorrow

I did I put him with a grey cinnamon BIG MISTAKE because all birds were cinnamon of coarse and most were yellow face opaline and yellow through their wings YUK they have all gone, I was going to cull him but Geoff said to put him with a normal next time and see how I go because he has a good head and ect The colour of this bird fools a lot of people because he is so green looking

Everdinetly when they first discovered the Df spangle they gad a bib like that because Geoff Gardiner was the one who named them and he came here and helped me cull some and he said that's what they looked like when they first named them and he said they were so pretty with the bib but the standard says they have to be pure yellow or white so you get marks taken off you because of the sheen.

when I bought him I new he was cinnamon but I thought he was grey green.

Arent you breeding currently?DO you have any pictures of your setup?My aim is to breed quality yellow face violet dominant pieds.I have 30 + pairs currently that all have a pied in the cabinet. so i should hopefully breed at least 100 dominant pieds this year. Finished for the year plus it is too hot for them now, I will start again at the end of March 2009. Everytime I put a yellow face with a pied or spangle the yellow bleeds so I now avoid it, I am trying to breed good yellow face normals because I have more chance of winning in that class, than if I put in a pied or spangle yellow face because they say their no place on the show bench for bleeding through the wings. I do have some really top normal violet cocks one looks like a champ. I don't have any pics of my sey up on hand but it is small and basic compared to most breeders but it is great for me and it suits me.

I am still not focusing on any particular variety as I am aimimg for nice type but I mainly have spangles, this year I was trying to breed good Dark green and light green normals and sky blue normal, Out of over a hundred birds that I have bred I have 2 dark green cocks and 1 sky blue hen but they will be my stock birds. Next year I will aim for the same. I will have 20 breeding cages going after March.
