  1. I just curious what people think. If you had a really good bird that had a feather cyst would you use it in your breeding program?
  2. I don't plan on chopping the top off as I feel that would lead to infection because it is really a big area. But will lance it again if needed. The poor girl.BUT she is looking good but has a hole red head new variety She looks as happy as. Thankyou Nubbly, I want to breed from her but yes the cyst thing is a worry, but she is also a top hen, yes question what do i do?
  3. It actually looks like it is filling up with blood again but it might take a few days to settle. I think she will be sore and sorry for a day or two
  4. Yep true I helped The hen did not have any sign of scaley mite on her face but under the ring it was caked with it

Hi Houman and welcome to the forum

  7. Hi Rodiss your birds lovely , you collecting a nice colour variety
  8. I knew it wasn't the eye in the end because her eye is clear and bright. Yes Kaz a rotten place for one
  9. Hi all well CW and I operated of the hen today and the conclusion is a cyst amongst all the blood was the usual cheesey stuff you get with a feather cyst. But once we got into it, out came this black thing like a seed, so we think a seed started it off and caused the infection well swelling went down straight away once Geoff got all the guk out. But it does look like it is filling with blood again though. But the hen looks as a happy as ever, she is not sick or anything, I really thought she would drop dead of a heart attack from all the stress but no she is bright eyed and bushy tail or what ever the saying is. Yes Gb bathed it in the benadine or how ever it is spelled and use the medi wipes too. The poor girl she looks like a new mutation" sky blue cinnamon opaline red head spangle" Any saved a $200.00 vet bill
