I decided to not worry ..... Concerned yes but not worried LMAO I looked this arvo as she is due to lay today and nothing else I am guessing that she will only lay 2 I know this is not the "Normal " thing to do Trust me my family is far from the Norm LMAO But because her and Prince no longer mate since i moved them from the aviary to the Laundry for peace and quiet as the other bird was killing snow white .... Come friday I can candle them as she is a good mummy and sits on them heheh can't wait
  9. You don't bathe it ..... either spray with fine mish pump spray ( Room temp / warm water ) or leave a little container with water in it so they can bath themselves
  10. I am not a vet but this will be your answer... As the lower part of the beak can't keep the top part of the beak in shape - ..... If you read my post from my other birds - But if it is an on going issue best to get it checked out... Keep some cornstartch for the bleeding - i cut angles beak a little to short and she bled for ages until i read to use a dab of this.... Good luck http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....topic=14681&hl=
  11. Hey Elly he is a looker lmao .... Still looks like my Prince
  12. Nigelward - Take note of Kaz, I was in a hurry for my pair to breed and it took some time - But they had eggs now HEHEH.... Even though he feeds her doesn't mean he is "a Good Mate" for her.... My bonded pair are they ones breeding .... Like Kaz said remove the nestbox and try again later - Have the nestbox so the hole is facing away from your view... Good luck with it all - and as for mating they will do it more than liekly when your not looking - I found that one out the hard way ....
  13. Hello, thank you all for your tips. The little guy did not survive. We do however still have three healthy babies. Sorry for your loss :angel1: I am guessing that is why mum left it - they have this sixth sense about their young

2 So far snow white is doing well 2 safe eggs today is her off day so due again tomorrow Her and Prince are safe in their own little breeding cage as they other male got violent... Prince is feeding her and goes in the box and stuff... She started sitting yesterday arvo 25 mins after i moved them ( i had the first egg in a safe place and put that egg and a marble ( 1st egg was splatted) and she sits on them... I am guessing there maybe another 2 -3 eggs to go But I am perfectly with my 2 ..... So when do I candle them???? she doesn't leave the box and I almost lost my finger having a sticky beak in there :budgiedance:

Getting a 1st time bird was wonderful for us as a family - Don't for get that some male bugies have pink cere's young females have pale / white rings around their nostrils that is a give away and don't be to shy if the pet shop tells you it's a male and you know it's not your better off going somewhere where they know what they are talking about! And I am sure "sam"will be find while your at school .... Do your homework when you get home then you can have uninteruppted time with him.... Best off luck with it all and as for you have learnt so much and you still have more to learn ... We ALL have more to learn but we are all here for one another .... All the best
