Hiya, so you took the other birds or the ones breeding out????? I really hope it was the other ones as you may have upset the breeders .... What are they using to nest in if there is not nest box????? If they find a place to breed they will ..... if you do not wish for them to breed remove what they are nestly in ( if there are eggs do not remove them ) as the hen will continue to lay

$50 for clipping are you serious ??? cost me $10 for mine and then i had to redo it anyway as Nervada took flight still ..... I left the first 2 feathers of the flight as the first contains the blood feather and then got a torch to view where to clip done the job well .... wish she'd stop biting though lol But yeah can't view your pics either

that does sound werid as all my breeders have runny poop during season and normal lol ... if the conditions are right they can breed all year round... Plenty of feed include Calcivet, seed fresh water fruits and veg and a safe place to breed.....

I have a few pairs going now and we are almost in winter once these hatch more then likly they will have a second round but i will defer this until after winter as this year its gonna be a really cold one and the chick have a less % of survial ...... Get your self set up and prepared for breeding ( if you really want to breed now) i suggest that you do it inside)

Kirsty sorry to hear what happened mate ..... When we were little Bluey used to come out of his cage and play while mum cleaned ( now i can't remember the story) she either stepped on it or vaccummed it up not a pretty site Also my hubbies friend was cooking when they let their bird out ( 9 years ago) and it flew staright into the boiling water that the pasta was cooking in ...... Still another unhappy ending ...... I have learnt my lessons from others

mine always pop there heads out at 4 weeks and then they ome out at 4.5 weeks .. I put them back in untill the are at least 5.5 weeks even then they still come out

Hey Andrew some birds take a while to molt, I wouldn't stress about it as it takes a month or 2 or 3 for molting

Well done for taking on the roll, it is a hard one there are a few members hear that have great advice on hand rasing babies, But i only have experience in the older ones l( weaning of mums) lol, personality wise sounds like one is male and the other is female post a picture and we will be able to tell you , Millet is a charmer put a bit in with them and some seed as they will like said before be curious and peck at it .. I have done this with 1 hen when i check the nest box her tail was near the lid and when she flew out of it her tail feathers were stuck in between the lid and the end of the box and they got pulled out ..... They grew back but Man did i feel bad or what .... Needless to say she got a few bit of millet to say sorry ....

I agree with the changing of the perches though, sorry to put a dampener on the topic, change the perches to run the other way this gives them exercise flying from one perch to the other and also change them to natural branches not dowel as this is harmful to the birds feet, and give them something to chew on and hels with the beack aswell... But she is Beautiful

Hey Deb, My Hen started sitting on her first egg after it was laid it hatched 18 days after it was laid then the 2nd egg hatched 3 days later not 2 days like it is commonly known .... I usually Mark the 18th day on a calendar and check twice a day from that day on and then mark again when it was hatched ......

YAY !!! I have been keen to see how they were going! simply beautiful ........

Thanks Norm and Denise, a small hole would explain everything aswell as the shell being so porous (sp) - The egg was only 10 days old ..... The other egg? .... I am checking on it in another 3 days to see if there is any different changes ..
