  4. yes hen, Liv is right with the cere being more purple in male for this mutaion .....
  5. Heya, Ihad this problem to. I was advised ( from here ) to give the bum a clean to get rid of old stains .. I stopped the green veggies and leaves too and left on a carrot and Corn veggie diet as well as seeds, the stain wash washed and cleared some of it off but most was stained so i trimed some featheres and she is fine now..... No stains and etc ..... However , if you have concerns consult a vet as it could be what Drnat said which means you mave have to give it a sulphar ( sp) treat meant ... This offerens occures during a long periods ( 5 days ) of rain or heat .....
  6. Yeah, that is what confused me to elly, but when you bred with a normal, and the outcomes are YF that is the only way ( is I remember correctly) how you can tell ... Werid ... I will look for the post, as the p.c has been upgraded and I have lost all my Bookmarked websites : (
  7. your welcome, we are all here to help one another
  8. Agree with Libby on this being a cinny ..........

My Avian vet advised me to offer brown (wholemeal) bread to my breeders ( as another part of soft food) in small doesage it is fine ..... if you are worried about preserativies and salts ... Bakers delight have no additives added ( great for kids with allergies ( like my son )...
  10. ELLY a green/ yellow series bird can still be a golden face or a DF Yellow face .... it was in the website that i posted ages ago from a gentectis (sp)
  11. Thaks for that Liv,..... Didn't know about the blackness on the beaks was from different genetics as all mine do ... lol Guess that means it time to go budgie shopping again LOL
  12. The hightest point for food is in the wild where they try for the tallest trees ..... Highest point ( hightes perches )
  13. Neat replied to maesie's topic in Competitions
Neat can't be rational at the moment as LOUIE still hasn't visited my avairy and all of my budgies want to know WHY
  14. Neat replied to missylu's topic in Breeders Discussion
This is where another flight cage is handy ( THE NURSERY ) I have moved my babies from the breeders to the nursery so that the temptation is'nt there for the youngens .....
  15. Looks great ... Perches as long as they ( the birds) can't grip the perches so that their front toes touch their back ones they are fine... and so that they aren't all flat ( unless for a special needs) it all good
  16. WOW LOOKS AWESOME :hap: Plenty of room..... Great job!
  17. Missylu, if he isn't moving very well take him down to the vet to have a look over they'll check for broken bones and etc, if the consuly fee usually $40-$45 is a bit much tell them you found it they usually wave the fee ....

Oh Maesis ..... My thoughts and prayers are with you and you family ... <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< H U G S >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
  19. This is awesome to hear ... Goes to show how well you look after them they have built a bond with you already great to hear and :hap: funny too lol
  20. This depends if you have them located outside or in --- If they are outside then having feed dishes on the bottom help attract all kinds of crawlies esp mice and cockaroaches ( ekk) .... I have my water dish 1/2 way up on one side and me seed and veggie dishes on the other side 1/2 way up as well ... Make sure that they are not under and perches as the birds Always poop in them lol ..... A bigger cage is better make sure that is is Wider rather then taller ( most bird cages are designed for canary type birds they fly up where as budies fly sidewards .....) Help this helps
  21. Agree with Liv on this one too, ..... Do you cover your birds of a night and are they hanging??? or on a table??
  22. If there is still blackness on their beaks they are very young ( too young to have been sold) As they are babies they will huddle into the closest corner for security as this is what they did in their nestbox ..... remove the grate at the bottom of the cage and put in some sawdust/ shaving/ or newspaper ... let them settle in as they will be under stress from the travel and the NEW HOME , like MB said if you can post a picture that would be better ... Did you purchase them from a petshop ??? As they are not very good at telling the sexes of the birds at young ages >>> GOOD NEWS WE CAN LOL ..... So welcome to the forum, and comgrats on your new family additions? What have you named them???
  23. - Could also have been that there was delays in the mating too ......
  24. Neat replied to kabel05's topic in Breeders Discussion
If your hen is carring violet then the outcomes will be different take a photo of her with out the flash ... Concentrate on the face , feet and tail I'll tell ya
  25. LEAVE THE NESTBOX WHERE IT IS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I say this because My clutch was the same age and parents go in and out when they please .... The chicks will all huddle up into the back corner and keep each other warm - if they start chirping cause they are old the dad goes in gives them another feed and check and come out and stands guard again .. that is his roll ..... If you move the box ( unless it's a cabinet like KAZZA said) it will compleatly ruin everything!!! the dad will stop doing what he is meant to ......
