  3. Wow, that is werid everything I have read is wrong unless you have an odd case LOL ... All my budgie books state that a hen will lay the same amount of different sexes ... So first Boy, then Girl, Boy then Girl .....Hmmmm .... See now I am all confused again LOL !!! Still they are cute!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I've never seen this, Wow ..... Still a beautiful brid
  5. After successful mating it will take 3-4 weeks fot the hen to laid an egg, once one egg starts they start every 2nd day ( usually) mine have had the odd 3 days or 4..... * Remember just because we don't see them mating doesn't mean they haven't they usually start at the crack of dawn before we are all awake ..... Missylu, keep an eye out for the Egg Bum, that will give you a sign of an egg coming usually with in 48 hours
  6. WOW maes, gezzzz that many eggs WOW - I hope you have lotsa healthy babies mate ... My largest clutch so far is 7 eggs 6 babies .......

Agree with the others one the ages mate, look at the cocks eyes too has an iris ring, deep blue cere, she is between 3 - 6 months as her cere is changin to the tan/ brown which happens after the first molt
  8. Sorry, But yeah they can, especailly if they like to give kisses ...(never kiss your bird directly on the beak or offer food that you have biten / eating ) the bacteria from your mouth transfers to the budgie / birds and they are pron to get anything baterial / viral infections you / kids are carring - with the whole sneezez and coughing, I don't think that would as when starsky and Margoo were our only birds they were in side and kids are always sick this didn't affect the birds - But insaying that, i guess general hygene with colds and flu is always the best bet .....

  23. Heya, So All babies have fledge nicely, From Snow man and Mybird - with an Albino Hen, Dilute grey Opaline Spangle Hen ( Big BITTER), Golden face clearflight dompied cock ( rehomed with Mother In Law) and Violet Normal Cock - Great additions to my crew , so happy with that pairing I am giving them another go but funnily they are the only pair that hadn't started a 2nd clutch while babies were in the nestbox or out ????? At present I have a few breeders going and some that just don't want to go LOL .... Gypsie and Prince have 3 babies and 1 egg to go the first baby hatched on the 22/5 second 23/5 third 24/5 ... Angel and D are on 5 eggs all not fertile at present .... My DF dom pied hen and my Violet Dom pied cock is sitting on 4 3 fertils so far and stupid Lace is sitting on 2 eggs ( she wasn't meant to breed .. yet was waiting till October to start her) she is a White ( yeah i know Blue lace wing) and she is with Bubbles my skyblue opaline cock ...... My Fallow and Dark Mauve ( still think it is either a grey violet or slate) are Not interested Nor is my TCB cock and Albino hen ( not the baby der) .. Poor 'ol strippy and Margoo are on a dry spell heheh ... SO that is what's doin' with Neat's nest ..... P.s This post is mainly for my records as I can't remember anything ...
