  1. I can't wait to see how that Cinnamon Grey Normal from that Beautiful Cin Grey turns out! Its going to be AMAZING!
  2. Well all chicks are doing great and growing like weeds! Kind of look like them to :(Laughing out loud): So far from what I can see #1 is a Light Green Spangle (possibly) someone said something about a pin feather thing where the 2 middles would be yellow...all of his tail feathers that are just popping out now are bright yellow and kind of grayish yellow (the two middle ones) his wings have way to much yellow in them to be normal. So I guessed right...I think I threw the last 2 eggs out I was afraid of them breaking and causing bacteria to form in the nest *harming the chicks* so I tossed them. 5 is a good amount and they were over do anyways. I will try to take pictures within the next few days, I am sick now. My journey isn't so excited because of the limited amount of pictures I'm sorry for that (Laughing out loud) but from what I see now I can see a Light Green Spangle, Normal Green & a Blue Spangle or Blue Normal the other 2 are to young to guess. Maybe by the time I get pictures you guys could tell me...
  3. I have handfed a clutch of budgies before but while they were in the nest...I used to give each of the chicks one or two feedings each day, so they got used to the parents and me. Some people say to handle them for 15 minutes each day...It still makes them timid. I want them tame as can be. I have a 10 gallon aquarium and I was planing on hand feeding at the end of this week sometime until weaning which would be at the end of March. I know I would need a heat pad, thermometer, towel, a certain humidity level and time. I just wanted to know if anyone has some experience with hand feeding out of the nest? What temperature should the aquarium be at? What sort of humidity would I need....
  4. No not at all, he is happy & healthy...
  5. My "Blue" is in the breeding cage with the Dilute Violet Opaline and he has been laying down on top of the nest box? Is this normal? It is a snug place because it is almost at the top corner of the cage and he loves it there. Is he okay or...? He never used to lay down in teh big cage...just the breeding cage. He lays on his stomach.
  6. wow they must be Beautiful!
  7. How cute, you got some nice babies!
  8. (Laughing out loud) same thing, yeah he is a Skyblue Spangle
  9. Ughh I forgot to resize the pictures again!
  10. I seen you but didn't get to talk to you...I don't think (Laughing out loud) Yes I was, of course its an English and you know how crazy I am about English (Laughing out loud). I'm getting the brother to that one from Darren thats why I didn't buy that one. The brother is nicer... I got some pictures a few days ago I only tok the first 3 out the other 2 are to young still, well they would get cold fast. These were only out for a minute.... http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s147/fr...22nd2007015.jpg First Chick (banded him the day before) http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s147/fr...22nd2007003.jpg http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s147/fr...22nd2007015.jpg http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s147/fr...nd2007005-1.jpg http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s147/fr...22nd2007004.jpg Well they aren't the best Photos but I'm sure they will keep you all wondering until the next ones come.... ****Photos have been changed to links as they were too large
  11. 5th chick arrived! 2 more eggs under them and one under the foster to go... :budgiedance: I got some pictures 2 days ago I'll try to get them up.
  12. I fed him a little, he is doing well now but the first baby I'm afriad he is becoming splay legged...
  13. I think my first baby is getting splayed legs....he is 9 days old and his one leg sticks out to the side. Could someone try and help me fix it? I added another 2 handfuls of shavings in the nest box but I'm not sure if this is working I just noticed today. Has anyone had a spaly legged baby?
  14. Thats what I have decided to do, Ill band all I can I'll have to order bands from the club, I didn't think I was even going to breed that many birds this year but I thought wrong I already have 4 in the second month of the year and 8 eggs! Yikes...plus cockatiels. I'm going to need to slow it down. I did band the first one today.
  15. 4th baby has arrived...a bit weak, unfortunately. He is struggling to get food over the 8, 6, and 4 day old. (Laughing out loud) I think thats how old they are. He is being fed but I'm not sure he is weak. Should I handfeed the older ones so they are full until the poor little one could get some more food?
  16. I am going to be banding my budgies pretty soon, Could I tell if they wer spangle at 8 - 10 days? My first is almost ready to be banded he is 8 days. I was planing on banding him tommorow but I only have a few bands and only want to band my spangles. How could I do this? They would be Green Spangles, and Normal Green babies. Does any one have a picture of a green spangle from 8 - 10 days and a Normal green at 8 - 10 days old? Anyone? Or could I see the tail pins at 8 - 10 days already for teh spangles?

Nope he is fine... Thanks guys
  19. They are looking great! Your doing a great job! All of your birds are beautiful, there isn't one that I wouldn't want Is Bubble Gum that male that you have the brothers to? I think you said you bought 3...
  20. String is really dangerous to have in a nest, I would try toilet papare or paper twoels liek I did if you don't have shavings for now. The string could wrap around a babies neck and it can be strangled...be careful. Your babies are about the same ages as mine, our first ones both hatched on the same day haha! Wouldn't it be funny if they turned out to be both Green Normals! :(Laughing out loud): :(Laughing out loud): TWINS
  21. I could only get one picture (Laughing out loud) I hate disturbing them from a bad experience with my cockatiels. I will take a picture when they all hatch, Hopefully! This picture was on the 2nd or 3rd day. I can't remember Anyways here is the picture of the little alien.
  22. OMG Beautiful male!
  23. The second chick has arrived...does anyone know the 3 tail signal for telling spangles?
  24. Joey replied to Joey's topic in Breeders Discussion
Well all of them are fertile...the other chick hatched a few hours ago and is well fed. I do have a concave circle...I think I made it a little to small. I built the nest box and I only made the concave about 4 inches round. I didn't think they were going to have 9 eggs! (Laughing out loud)
