Sprouting Seeds?
I know I have tried this way of sprouting seeds but they don't sprout that well anyone have a different way? This is how I tried it... 1). Fill abowl full fo water 2). Put two teaspoons of seed inside a strainer and submerse it under water 3). Let it sit for 24 hours, rinse of well 4). Remove the seeds and put them into a dry bowl lightly coverd at room temperature 5). Let them sit for 48 hours washing occasionally This sprouts them but they don't sprout that well...anyone have a different way?

American Budgie With English Budgie
I shouldn't be against my own country but I'm sorry to day this...Canada has nothing for birds in particular English Budgies. Well my area dosen't I can bareley buy one English I don't know how I could get two. The stuff thats around here is simple.... Greens Greys Blues Normals Opalines (VERY RARELY SPANGLES) a few Dominant Pieds Not much its all common...what I consider rare is a DF Dominant Pied Yellow Faced Type 2 Skyblue Dliute (possibly spangle) I have never seen this in a English budgie. So this plan wouldn't work than

My Cinnamon Grey Hen...
I am part of a club...the Essex Kent Cage Bird Soceity It's a great place but if you belive it or not....there are only 3 or 5 ENGLISH BUDGIE breeders in teh club. Everyone is after Parrolets and Kakariki's... but this one breeder who I got my hen from has about 50 of them and the best around. He will not sell his though he sold me this one for cheap because of the wing it broke before and just healed this way. Thats what I found out not to long ago...but she can still breed. If I offer him high amounts of money he will sell me one I know he will.

Hey Guys
OMG really! Yes I am! I just joined a few weeks ago but I knew about the club for about 2 years before I joined! This is cool! I love that club and the birds part of that club! (Laughing out loud) I'm a junior member I can't wait to show in the higher divisions...I'm trying to breed some nice cockatiels this year before the show. I'm showing in the lowest ranks (Laughing out loud) like a baby

American Budgie With English Budgie
:(Laughing out loud): Sorry to interrupt all the useful threads but I'm just new to the English Budgie hobby, I was just wondering.... I have a really nice colored little American Budgie. If I bred him to an English ...the English would be split to his type. I never see English budgies in rare colors...so I was wondering if I worked on this one color for generations and generations..year after year could it become show standard? This could be some sort of my plan... 1st)> Rare American Cock Budgie >English hen Than I would keep a baby from this breeding 2nd)> Rare American Cock Budgie >English hen Than I would keep a baby from this Breeding They would be half brother and sister...than these two babies will be Half & Half a little bigger than the average budgie, I could than keep on breeding this pair's young to English Budgies and hopefully after a few years get a Rare Colored English...Does anyone think this is possible? It might be confusing but ask me questions

Budgie Age
No he will be 6 this year...the budgies here in Canada are banded with what year they were born in so he will be six this year.He has had a 1 month break...but Ill give him another few weeks of rest.

Budgie Age
I just bought 2 new pairs of budgies and 3 young babies from the one pair. The male is banded 02 "2002" and its 2007 now....Is he to old to be breeding because I was planning on breeding him 2 or 3 more times than retire both of them. I just wanted to get a Spangle out of them. They had a spangle chick from this clutch, unfortunately I have to sell...I need to pay for the pairs....

My Cinnamon Grey Hen...
Well yeah I could try, Its so difficult here to get a breeder to sell you and Englisg budgie theere isn't many! About two or three good ones. If I offer them an outrageos price than they will sell...

Hey Guys
Windsor Essex Kent Cage Bird Soceity!

My Cinnamon Grey Hen...
Well yes I would like a bigger size....bigger throat spots and some colors I want to get are some more Greys would be okay but I want Cobalts or Skyblues...Normal, Opaline, spangle doesn't matter....I don't care about the wing markings. Is there anyway some of the babies could be Grey and some could be Cobalt?Or Skyblue?

My Cinnamon Grey Hen...
I have a Cinnamon Normal Hen.... I have been told her spots and mask are short because Cinnamons have shorter feathers. Her father was a Grey Green Dominant Pad and her mother was a Golden Opaline I seen one just like her somewhere on this forum. Indentical! My Cinnamon Grey is (6 months old) but her name is Anibelle....what should I breed anible to? What color? What sort of bird with what traits? This is her: http://i16.tinypic.com/47vbdd4.jpg Agian...don't mind the Skyblue in the front that is the male that is going after her! (Laughing out loud) http://i12.tinypic.com/43y6zvp.jpg This is was a picture of her when she was younger: http://i18.tinypic.com/29c5t0j.jpg As you can see her wings curls up like that...I found out that she broke it before and it was never treated in the flight by the breeder. That is why she was sold for a cheap price. Poor thing, SHE FLYS FINE THOUGH!!! its not broke anymore it just healed that way. She can still breed I think. Right? I know I can't put her in the show...but her off spring perhaps. I'm not planning on showing any budgies this year maybe next year. I'm just going to be entering a few tiels and see how they do. edited. pictures too large and have been changed to links

Hey Guys
Hi my names Joey, I'm 15 and I live in Southern Ontario, Canada. I just started out in bird breeding 2 years ago and this year I am already going to be entering some cockatiels into this years show! I hope all goes well but anyways...thats in October. I have 13 budgies, 7 cockatiels, 2 lovebirds & 3 canaries... I only have ONE show budgie right now she is a 6 month old Cinnamon Grey. Thats why I joined here! To find out more about English budgies! Some of the Normal budgie mutations I have are Spangles, Opalines, Normals, Dilutes, Dominant Pieds and Ressecive Pieds. I don't have a camera but I have a few pictures from a camera I borrowed from a friend.

Egg Food
Do you guys think this Recipe for Egg Food is good? It was great! The budgies liked it! 6 Unsalted crackers 1 Boiled egg 1/4 Whole Wheat Brown Bred Toasted 4 Drops of Vitamins 2 Teaspoons of chopped Brocloli I mashed the crackers until they became powder. Than I mashed the Boiled egg with a fork and mixed it together with the cracker powder. Than I crumbled the dry Whole Wheat Toast , on top of mixture and added 4 drops of Budgie Vitamins. I mixed it all together and after I put it in a shallow bowl and scattered some small brocoli peices on top of the egg food mix. Is this okay? It my own recipe :hap: I alsop left some egg shells in it but I also made tehm into very small peices.
