  1. Nice mate. Like your pieds and pair 4 & 7, the rest are good too but I like them most
  2. Mate you have some nice birds there. Babies are looking good. Phone takes awesome photos too
  3. hahahaha Dave. Would you like me to look after them for you until you come back?? Looking great Kaz
  4. I'm with Liv- looks like a yellowface texas clear body, and a ripper at that
  5. Not to worry Dave, we know you didnt mean anything by it. Love a bit of sarcastic humour it makes me feel right at home Lol
  6. Been a long time since I lost a bird (besides one chick the hen attacked a few months back) I'm wondering as we have the extreme heat for prolonged periods and not 'suddenly for a few days' the birds get acclimatised to the heat better. They still spend the day on the floor of the aviary or round the water when its hot but no losses.
  7. Good luck with it Renee
  8. Looks like you are getting out and about and having a good time. You werent pinching those witches hats were you Lol!! I have seen the pink Cad somewhere before. There are some beauties in that lineup

True CR, we often have a huge heat then thunderstorms in the evening, I love it. The last 3 days here have been under 35 its been great, back up to 40's again now though. You can drive from one side of this town to the other in 5 mintues, last week we had a storm come through my end of town 44c then hail, huge downpour, thunder lightening and flash floods, ripped out about a dozen huge gumtrees lining the streets and a heap of private house trees, mate lives about mid-way in town and didnt get a drop no wind no rain nothing.
  10. Well done and good luck with the improvements these birds hopefully make. He looks to have some good sized birds, and such a simple but well setup aviary
  11. I think sometimes it just wheedles out the weaker ones, even when they look healthy they may have an underlying heart problem etc and it takes this stress to bring it on. We've been having 40-42 then a 46 last week, I even had chicks hatch on the 46c day, you notice some do it harder than others
  12. Lucky you, Ive wanted one of those but no..no..no not in WA
  13. Looking promising Kaz it has really blown out on top hasnt it and a rare blue to boot Lol I would have risked it too. I must add another blue or 2 to the mob sometime
  14. I was reading and instantly thought Beaker- muppets. But I obviously wasnt the first Lol He is a doll, so cute I have one in the aviary- I never noticed when I got him as an adult, I was trimming his beak a fair bit but have noticed when I dont it gets to a certain spot and doesnt get any longer, he eats well and s a 'normal' aviary bird.
  15. Could be worse Dave- it was 46 here today. Haha Liv got a picture of you terrorising the Perth drivers Lol
  16. Haha, would have been a bit nerveracking not knowing what had happened good or bad. Glad it had all turned out okay though. I grew up in the ocean with my dad but have been living in the desert and on farms for 10 years, last time I went spearfishing I was nervous as *** and looking over my shoulder all the time, not as comfortable in the ocean as I once was
  17. okay, Good luck with it all
  18. Poor bugger is going to be exhausted Lol. Sounds like a terrific trip
  19. woohoo, how far/when due?
  20. Lol glad its feeling a little better. Sounds like the doc was a bit rough with your needle though. Do you find the only time you bang your fingers is when you have injured them!! I knew I would hurt myself again after reading this post the other day. I managed to stab myself with a boning knife yesterday in my thigh a few cm's. Geez I'm a tool 2budgies- nice pearl, how old is it?
  21. I was leaning to yf2 at first, but there is only a little bleeding on the body- which may just be a yf1 with fault. My yf2's at that age have been quite greeny. Also he is club rung so the odds are in his favour for a yf1. There are some yf2 club birds but they cant be shown so most people lean away from them, they are more of a pet variety. He is handsome.
  22. I agree with Sailor, but as with anything keep an eye on them. My biggest problem with that toy was cleaning it often. It was an object of his affections, feeding and loving it often. I have used it for birds since then no worries.

Thats a top camera Daz, its amazing what you can do with them and the pictures you will end up with. This had reminded me to find out how my lens is going- I sent it off for repairs a few months ago.
  24. If thats what it is MB, then WOOT WOOT. If not then HURRY UP and tell us Lol!!
  25. I used to read alot Renee, then I had a baby Lol!! You sound extremely handy in the kitchen though- not me no,no,no!! I hunt/shoot Take photos (theses 2 normally go together as most of my best pics have been taken while out the bush.) Work my dogs Ferreting I like gardening- mainly vegie patches, not so into the other stuff. Play around on the station a bit, look after the joint when the people go away, catch a few wild dogs. And when I get some good ones I tan skins- floor mats, etc I used to live on horses, work racehorses in the morning, work or farm during the day and train my own in the arvo's dont have a horse now, did a bit of teaching last year at the pony club and a few privates- not for a fee, just for people that needed some help.
