Can just be a normal DF spangle. If you were closer I have a nice DF pied you could use. Mmmmm maybe just for you JB I might do the pairing to a sf spangle.

Grey Budgies
In a 'moment' I had I paried my grey spangle to a blue normal- hoping the end result was some blues, spangle or not. Last clutch all greys I have his mum- a grey green spangle, looking at my records his father was also a grey green. So that would mean he is a grey bred from greens. I wont be getting any blues from him will I? A grey bred from blue/grey pairing would? Does the fact he had 2 green parents carry? Does it make a difference having a grey bred from greens and a grey bred from blues?

Beach Trip Became A Nightmare
Comes in handy if you get bogged too- you can jack yourself out of it

Lol, sorry mate. Depends on how much came off to how 'round' it ends up, reckon you may have a bit of a flat spot knowing roughly how thick the vegies end up. Ive had a few accidents while boning out carcasses. Usually put the flap off skin back on and hold tight and strap on. Sometimes it sticks back down within the hour, sometimes a few days later it falls off. Scars are always a good talking point though if there has to be an 'up' side to it  Sorry to hear though, this post made me real squirmy and I noticed I was reading with my fingers held tight into my fist haha.

Beach Trip Became A Nightmare
No good mate, a rotten end to what promised being a good day (even with the sandstorm) Get a small plank of wood that will fit under your jack, about an inch thick, you can keep it under your seat or with the jack, doesnt take up much room and may never need it again but always comes in handy when 4wding in sand just in case or being bogged or changing a tyre and needing a footing for your jack. Not that you can (wagon)- but its amazing the amount of things that can be wired or cable-tied underneath the tray of a vehicle "just in case" and not take up any room in the car or on the tray How did the tyre pull up? It looks new, hope it was able to be re-inflated for you with no damage

Few Pics
thanks Liz -and Kaz I know the standard of some of your birds and it makes me feel good. The little chick in the top pics has improved in the last week so I'm looking forward to the next 6 months. The light greens will be rehomed shortly but the rest are looking good so far- the oldest batch would be about 6 months now and there are some hens (and cocks) that will be getting used next year they have moulted through well and while not show stoppers they are equal to the birds I'm already running. I have a few nice cocks but their numbers are increasing and there are only so many cock birds of the same colour and breeding I can use. I really cant wait for the next few months to go by so I can put some more down I havent used yet- it has gotten way too warm, I have 2 pair down still with eggs/newly hatched I am going to have to baby this next month or 2. I really shouldnt have put them down but couldnt help myself as the weather was still good- I knew it would be hot by the time they hatched though. I have a notepad in the aviary I am writing pairing options down for next run though. I would like to get some of my Dom pieds and spangles down next.

Few Pics
Few random pics- it started off this morning as me trying to work out the parents of 2 babies. They had to be put together in the same nest before ringing and I hoped to be able to tell them apart at fledging. Well I might have...maybe... well I'm running with it anyway Lol :bluebudgie: They are related either way and both cocks so not a huge stress. The only difference I could see is one has some lovely long feathered spots the other has my 'normal' baby type spots. So am going with the different spot chick to be from some new blood I added. There are 7 (I think) in the baby cage atm about 8 or 9 wks (must check) and as usual, greys and greygreens. This was taken a few weeks ago but shows some of the others Couple starting their first moult in the aviary this fella has some filling out to do in the next few months. Another Black ring- although he is from the last time black rings were used, getting scruffy but still going great. I desperately need some more light greens to pop up- this fella is the brother to the bird in my avatar, never used him. He is also a very long big bird (not that you can tell from pics) Got 4 more light greens coming through but they wont make the grade. They are from a lutino cock and a nice hen- I'm yet to get anything decent from him so he maybe retiring to a friends aviary with another lute hen. Terrible photos Lol (mid-poo?? he didnt look like his when I pushed the button but too lazy to get another Split rec pied (from mum- she is split also) and last but not least my little ugly duckling- I am still waiting for my swan. Both his parents are dead due to an unfortunate accident just as they were starting to produce some rippers (which were killed in a foster nest ) so he means a bit to me even if he doesnt quite make the grade his parents and siblings did argh photobucket has nearly driven me mad trying to get the pics and post up today

T.c.b. And Albino Together To Breed.
congrats on your babies Trish- it is normal to have 3 toes forward 1 back to ring your chicks, not so normal to go 2 front 2back.

Superb Fruit Dove
can your friend drop her off at the vet or carer? Some carers will pick up if close enough. Also try to find a carer/vet on the way or at the area your camping? To get it to eat, make a crumbly wet mix (not a slurry liek you would feed a baby) so its easy for them to pick up but soft enough for it to be easy to eat, covered box/cage and sprinkle it on the floor. Damp chicken crumbles/budgie crumbles would work for now. Once it looks like it'll try other things add them

Help With These Show Birds Please
agree with Liv. Also the cinnamon on the perch underneath it, and maybe have a crack at the blue opaline on the right. (might be a hen to go with your yf)

Keeping Exotic Birds
Wa has much stricter rules than most other states so ours are different. It makes me laugh that a bird can get all the way to Midland before testing, what if it was positive and had gotten away before Midland Ag? Our quarantine station handles livestock coming across or going across the border but we are hours away from the border and there are 3 or 4 towns between us. HAd a guy come into the petshop after a cage to put his finches in while their cage was sprayed in Kal after coming across from NSW- if its on the cage its in the finches right?? And by now they had been in town half a day, gone to 2 petshops and carted around town. SOmetimes they just dont think!! They should have the 'spray' at the border - not hard to do there. For my lovies I need a declared birds species licence but for the aussie parrots a native lic covers them. Chryso- hows he going? Settled in okay?

What Species Are okay With Budgies?
Wow Jb I didnt know they did that. Never had roses in the garden, partners oldies had a few and in one of the paddocks a mini rose (?) came with the old 100 year old house, it was about 6 metres across bloody huge I didnt realise it was a rose until it flowered
-
Yellowface 1 And 2..
Yep sounds like it. Also with the pet types you are almost guarateed its a type 2 they are more common than a type1, t1 come about more often in the show scene where breeding and mutations are more tightly controlled

What Species Are okay With Budgies?
Not sure how your decking is set out but the seed falling between the cracks 1) once it gets damp it smells, 2) will be a haven for mice and crawling things. Its amazing when you put your aviary in an out of the way spot in the yard- that spot becomes more familiar to you, you work more in that area and sit for agaes staring at the birds. I might just be me but I hate seed and feathers around the house/patio but I spend alot of my time in the far end of the garden
