Few Randoms
Been a bit quiet on here lately so I headed out yesterday to get some pics of the birds, the baby lovebirds which are adorable at the moment, and the ferrets that are in their winter coat and looking like little fur coats BUT...... my camera is busted a new one is needed and I have no idea what I will do without a camera until I get another- it lives with me especially when I go bush. SO you will have to put up with a few older- not-that-good pics that I already had loaded on here First 'big kid' spot Couple of babies- wasnt sure with the babies from these lines as they are small but seem to grow after a moult or 2 No she isnt splayed just standing odd- bit slippery I spilt some mineral mix sister Few birds-related, going through or close to the first moult Grey bird- free to good home, and young greygreen cock One of the pairs down now, 3 eggs we'll see if they're fertile soon Another pair with 3 eggs- my big green boy and a greygreen hen I bred. 1 pair has 2 babies just starting to get pins Waiting on another pair to show something, and 1 new pair yesterday hahaha going through pictures- so had to include this one, no idea how I got it

Can A Spangle Turn Into An "opaline" ?
Yep the bright white down is opaline, the grey down is normal (or not opaline) As opaline is inherited differntly in male/female it makes it easy to sex chicks before they feather up

I realise it was just barring but I have found that if they have a cap like that they are more likely to develop flecking. I never said she was opaline?

Can A Spangle Turn Into An "opaline" ?
Her down looks white from here- telling its an opaline hen. Father didnt have to be opaline- going by the results of the clutch he was split opaline as not all hens were opaline

Emma's Birds
The cage looks awesome and your birds are STUNNING
-
New Birds
She is lovely Kaz. She moulted out that cap well- I thought she may have retained the flecking a bit more. Will be an impatient time waiting for her to put to nest
