I have my boxes set up in a spare aviary (pics in aviary section) its been between 0-3c at night here every night, make sure birds have plenty of good tucker and shavings in the boxes. So far no losses, 7C isnt too bad but just be prepared to lose a chick or 2 in case of the worst happening.

4 or 5 so far in cage 1- green / greygreen pair, look okay have started ringing chicks. Dom pied / greygreen pair had a chick that I found on the cage floor, not sure if she threw it out or what. I shifted her next to hatch eggs into the nest of the older hen. This morning there was a young 'lute' chick in the older hens nest- that has made it easier to determine which ones are fosters!! The greygreen cock in pair 2 is split lute, so hopefully the hen chick gets mums mask- that is one thing all my lutes are lacking from last year. Doesnt look good so far for my lute/lute pairing should have had something by now. Still waiting on the other 2 pairs, nearly time. THey all go mad when its feed time, walking up with their soft food to the aviaries there is a wall of budgies on the front of the wire waiting!! the breeders cages wait by their door and my green boy cannot wait for me, he gets out and helps himslef while waiting.

Lol they look a bit like Akita xs to me!! But the area where they are from is extremely remote. These guys are lucky for now and staying with the guy. Mum was a white dog, Dad a red(typical dingo colour) Ive never caught one these colours, some have an odd white spot or small patch here and there, and one big brindle dog a few months ago but he looked like he had bully or something in it. Have sent a few DNa samples off so it'll be interesting to see the results
