Id call her quite nice, but she does look Rec pied-ish but with alot more feather. What is she? Are there any other markings? Also with the young rec pied, she has quite dark markings on her head- do you find this as a preview to their flecking?

Good to see ya around again- wasnt sure if you were trying to hide a little or not so I kept quiet but now... Welcome back. It was strange having a few people leaving at once- I thought I musta farted or something!! Hahaha

  9. Geez all you slack people... I remember having a dishwasher until I was about 7 then we moved. Havent seen one since...... oh yes I did- when we put a new kitchen in the old house... it got hooked up the day we left
  10. Pretty sure there are some differences. HI FEATHERS- good to see (?) you again, sounds like you have been busy jet-setting around the place. My old budgie could speak english and "french" (but not the french I could put up here Lol.
  11. The little gregreen cin op hen is a lovely looking baby, would like to see her after a moult she has a nice sitting mask already. Are parents another round? Nice violets too, (and spangles and...you get my drift ) Lol All looking real well.
  12. Sorry to hear mate, I was going to say even ALOT of bleeding doesnt mean anything but in this case it did, and its easier when it happens now then if you found something was wrong at 3-4 months and had to make a decision then of how to handle it (not easy) Good luck for the next try though- will you keep on rolling with the idea or wait a bit?? I found a chinese calender on google and it was right for me, also typed in old wives tales for a bit of fun.. Its funny reading this on here as I have no female friends in town I chat too, its kinda like having a 'virtual' coffee meetup!!
  13. So when are they due?
  14. This year has been quite mild, with temps only reaching about 38 in Oct and has been good since. Last few years we hit the 40's in Oct, averaging mid to high 30's with summer at its peak at 40-45, this isnt a once off or a few days it can be weeks. The killer can be the hot desert nrothern winds but we angled the aviary away from them this time round. I ran the sprinkler last year over the aviaries in the peak of the arvo which we and the dogs sat under, it also cooled the ferret cages. This year I dont think will be as bad we have moved and set up the aviaries differently, maybe at its peak I may hose them a bit- they love a bath but they generally just park up for the day. Havent lost a bird yet and they have seen some high temps.
  15. Yep we do, but Renee said she had got approval.
  16. It may be easier for you to- instead of making sliding doors, use a hinged lid on top. Simply make a box with no top, cut a top to fit and attach with 2 small hinges. I have made similar boxes for my ferrets (but alot bigger) and cant see why it wont work for a budgie nestbox as well, especially if its a tad harder where you are to get the grooves done right (sorry I am bringing up an older topic.)
  17. Stroke or similar maybe. I must put some more pieds down to breed I miss seeing the little fellas!!
  18. Cheers :chickendance:
  19. Theres something exciting you dont get with 'normals' when you see a pieds 'baldy patches' feather up. Its a good feeling
  20. Would you move them into a flight at first moult or younger? (youngster only flight)
  21. Now THAT sounds like a barrel load of fun!! Id go with the concrete mixed into icingsugar / flour trick or throw a heap of traps up there. (make sure there is a dish of water if you go the concrete way) The ferrets could work or else I saw a huge python out the bush the other day- they're quite at home in roofs but have a tendency to move thier tastes onto cats when the rats run out!!
  22. He is a good looking fella especially for such a young one. Once those 'internal (?) spots come in (the middle ones) he will have a lovely mask. At what age do you keep in kindie cage/ put into flights? Are you better off keeping them confined (as such) until a certain age?
  23. Lol, like a pair of teenagers when you tell them NO they must go ahead!! Bet she's happy now making 'house'
  24. The beach was at Condingup, just out of Esperance.
  25. Had a trip to the beach Friday, booked a cabin and stayed til Monday. The beaches there are amazing and the sand is so squeaky!! LOL, for those that dont know what I mean when you walk on it it squeaks kinda like a wet thong noise. Hilarious when the dog is running flat out in circles..squeak, squeak,squeak...... anyway We took the motorbikes and went for a few rides around the bay along the beach. We like everyone else around Oz at the moment have been having some really strange weather, big hailstorm at Salmongums a few nights before we left had caused huge damage, frozen dams and chilled sheep to death, fair bit of rain too. They opened the highway the night before we left (we didnt know about it!) and there was still a bit of water laying around..... but it was worth the drive when we got there (oh, we are 5 hours from the beach) Little fella not real keen on the beach, water was cold I dipped his toes in and he cried  but he did have fun scrunching the sand with his toes (he loves to grab stuff with his toes, takes after me like that I reckon) Still cold at night so he pinched dads beanie and we came home with some new pets... girl- this is my favourite so far a real sweety girl- not overly friendly, doesnt bite but not keen on being held Boy- just a typical boy! I now know why people are keen on one as a pet, they are quite cute!!
