Breeding Ino's
Hi guys, I am wanting to know what success people have had in breeding Albinos and Lutinos. You know, things like: What is the best colour to put them with to achieve cleaner white and yellow colours. Also what type of bird (such as opaline, normal etc) to use to increase their sizes. I have heard that breeding Ino to Ino decreases the size a fair bit. Love to hear of your experiences. Paul

Breeding Ino's
Hi peoples, I was wondering what your thoughts are on breeding Albinos and Lutinos. I have one female of each, they are of a good size, they are 12 months old and will be ready next year for breeding. What do you think would be the best birds to put with each one, to increase size and colour? I have heard someone mention puting greys with the Albino and normal greens with the Lutino. However, I thought a blue would be good with the Albino and perhaps a olive green with the Lutino. Anyway any help will be appreciated, to find out which is the best colour for each one. Cheers peoples

Mother And Sons
I am thinking of puting these two birds together in the next month. What would you think I could expect in colours. Mum is a Golden Fallow and the son is this greeny yellow wingish one. The Dad to this boy was a Green Normal. Would I get any Golden Fallows? Cheers Paul drinks_wine.gif Well these are their babies. And i am pleased with result in trying to get a baby like the mum which is a golden red eyed fallow. Well i only got one baby like the mum, she is not quite as golden as the mum and little on the small side, but hey i'm pleased. The others are spangle and opaline greens, the light green spangles look absolutely great even though the pictures dont really highlight the colours. The spangles and one of the opalines are of a real good size and shape. Well hopefully next time i may get more fallows, here's hoping. Thanks peoples This post has been edited by Paulh29: Today, 20:18 -------------------- Cheers Paul IPB Image

Seed Can Be To Dry
Hi Cheeta, the oil is replacing in the seed what it has already lost. The angle here is to put back what the seed has lost and at the same time it is beneficial to hens when egg laying eg: helps to decrease the chances of egg binding. So if you are breeding, the birds do need to retain a certain amount of fat while they are feeding. As well with my birds I feed them all whether breeding or not, with a budgie breeder mix which does not contain major fats in seed like oats. So the amount of oil you add is not a problem.

The longer its got to soak in the better, if you are worried just mix smaller lots at anyone time. I have never had a problem with olive oil and have never had a problem with it going sour. If you stick to the oils we can digest (like olive, vegetable, canola etc) you will be right.
