Hi Neat,,,,,,,,,,,I give my birds rolled oats,, dry ( I give them the savings brand rolled oats like uncle tobys) not everyday, probaly a couple of times a month. They love it,,,,I give it sometimes when they are breeding as well.

My birds go ape over carrots....the love corn and believe it or not,,,,,,,,they love buffalo grass especially the stem and root parts.

Hi Jillinda.........how old are your birds? Have they ever bred before? it is not umcommon for a young bird to be inconsistent with her first clutch,,,,,,,,,so I wouldn't give up straight away. I do agree with feathers though,,,,,,,wait a few days after the last egg is due to be hatched before you throw them out. I have been caught like that.........crack an egg open thinking that it's well over due to fing there was a chick inside.

I am apparently a green too. I think you would be a good green budgie Aly....I think you are courageous.

Don't worry Paul.. I'm with you.. I'm a bluey as well!! Have you noticed the blue budgies are always the first to go in pet shops?!?!?! that must mean something.. hehe Yeah cheeta you are right people really do like blue budgies. (Laughing out loud)

I am a blue budgie....which means I am just a casual middle of the road type Budgie. (how boring) Does this mean if I was in a pet shop with other different coloured budgies, someone would say don't pick the blue one, they are just a middle class budgie. :(

Well Daz, first off,,,,you lucky boy getting that winnerer,,,, it's hard enough to find,,,,try explaining what you want from a pet shop,,,they wouldn't have a clue I would think it would be an idea to consider mixing the husk with saw dust, can't hurt.

I absolutely love the green boy, what a striking bird.

Feathers makes a good point, exhaust fumes, petrol fumes are not good for your birds, just keep that in mind then you should have no problems.

To clarify Paul if the bird was under 3 months and hadn't moulted for the first time and the cere was textured and had the nassal rings i'd say Hen. If the bird's cere was smooth and no nassal ring i'd say Cock. You can use this proccess from about 21 days old. I'm am usually 75% right with the birds in front of me. But some are difficult. Ta Daz, as this bird was given to me. I'm don't no the history. I put it with a hen but so far there is not one bit of interest shown in either bird.

It is not uncommon to add it to your birds water it does help there gut, Missionaries who go to places like India etc do the same thing it helps settle your gut and has an effect against some bacterias.
