New Nest Box
If I could get a copy of that, I'd appreciate it. I could also convert the file to .pdf. PM for an email address. I have to do the conversion at work..

Lemon & Nibbles!
Did you change the name of the album they were in? That'll make previous links wrong.

Lemon & Nibbles!
It appears that the link is going to a specific album maybe?? Here's the 3 images I found when I went to the beginning of the album. I don't know their sizes and they of course are Thirtyfive Black's photos.

Breeding Time
That makes sense. I just couldn't figure out the system. I don't remember everybody's budgies names. (HEH I barely remember most peoples names ) But now you've explained it's a good system. It would be cool to see that. The only bird eggs I've candled are finch eggs. I tend not to candle them very often as they cool down really quickly and I don't want to stress the mother and father birds off the nest too long. The only time I interfere with any nesting behaviour is if the male starts building another layer on the nest. Zebra finches are notorious for making a layered nest. (nest, eggs, new nest on top, eggs, etc.) I'll also pick up babies that have fallen out or get tossed and place them back in the nest if I know they're too young to be out yet. Oh, is there a spot here that outlines when you can candle an egg? Just curious.

okay I have to ask. I realize you wrote on the eggs to keep track of them. But what exactly does IR and IT (1R? 1T?) stand for?

Sex Of White Budgie
Is it? Would two white birds always give white babies? What else?

I Just Had To Do It
It's official. I didn't really want to go with it, since the colour meaning was wrong. However, it rhymed and Kathleen really likes it. So, it's Mango and Tango. Mango looks like he may be a handful. Not that he's bad, cause he's not. I've never seen a budgie so intent on trying to fit into tight spaces that they may NOT get out of. We've had to put elastics on the food trays in the cage to make sure they stay in (He has no access to these, they are on the OUTSIDE of the cage). He knocked them out and then got stuck trying to go through where the perch meets the tray. When the tray is in, it's tight, but okay. When it's out. He needs help to get out. He tries to fit through the top rung of the ladder which he also just fits through. So, hopefully we've got all his little 'tight' spots so that he can get back out of them.

I Just Had To Do It
Wanted something that fit nice with Tango's name, and yet maybe still apply to his colouring... nothing easy for me.

I Just Had To Do It
Still working out the name. Kathleen calls him "New Budgie" for now. She wanted to call him Pluto for some reason. Something will appeal.

I Just Had To Do It
It's a rabbit Kirby. Kathleen's black bunny that she calls "Blackie". It's a fairly large cage and all you see in that shot is a small corner of it. I thought of Mango myself actually, but it just doesn't seem to fit a blue budgie. Ken thought maybe we should call it B-fer. As in "B for budgie". That's cute, but it doesn't appeal either. We'll think of something. I'll show him your huge list tonight and see what he thinks. Good to know that we weren't too far off from what we wanted. He seems like a nice bird so far. Has not been a squawker. *whew*

Nope, no name yet. Still trying to come up with something that appeals to me. Uhhh... guess I meant that (Laughing out loud)

okay, here's the best frontal shots I took today. It's not as bright as yesterday so the shots are a bit darker. He also actually went on my finger for about 20-30 seconds, so that's good to me. Yes, he's going through a pretty good moult right now.... I'm glad to hear the spangle. We wanted a violet spangle but knew it would be tough to work out if he was violet or cobalt only.

Tango Update
We get our bulk millet from a guy who runs a petstore. He does come down in our area for the bird shows. That's usually when we get the millet. I'll figure out his name (link?) and show you. http://exoticwings.com/ - The guys name is Mark. Admin....(I don't know if this link is allowed or not, if not, let me know and I'm pm it to Kirby).

Tango Update
Actually I got the cage at our local petstore. I used to have breeding finches in it. She's only been in it for a day so far. She's still getting used to it. We just got her the new ladder for that cage since finches don't need a ladder. I thought that since she loved the ladder in her other cage. She's been a great addition to the household.

Tango Update
okay, I thought I'd post a picture of Tango's new cage. And a few new pics. Enjoy. The cage - and yes, Tango is visible Closeup of Tango in that picture

I Just Had To Do It
We got a new budgie. Saw one in the petstore we couldn't resist. I'd like to know what mutation you think he is. He's at least 4 months old, maybe even 5. He has an iris ring. I tried to take a picture to show it. Guess we'll see how it shows up here.

Gee... never seen anyone so excited about bird poop before!

My Setup...
Interesting setup Kirby. I suppose one day I should post the cage setup downstairs for the finches. I'd have to see if I can get a good picture of it. It always comes out so dark looking. We've got baby zebras all over. Three sets of young. Two sets of BC parents and one with a BC male and a pied female (we call her whitewing for obvious reasons). Hopefully the parents feed the babies well enough as I don't have the time to handfeed baby finches.

Kirby And Belle!
That last picture is very cute. They both seem so sure of themselves.

Tarzan Or Super Chucky!
Tango loves doing that as well. Sure makes you think about being doublejointed sometimes. (Laughing out loud)
-
Chico And Ariel...
Be glad you don't have finches then Nathan.... they wait til they've laid at least 4 eggs and then finally sit on the nest so that all the chicks are close in size. I imagine that there's a little leeway in the time the egg is laid and the time the female needs to sit on it, even for budgies.

Chico And Ariel...
I hope it works out for you! Sounds more promising this time.

New Birdie!
Tango is a good bird. She just doesn't seem to want to be hand-tame. I keep plugging away at it though. One day it'll happen. My brother had a budgie once named JJ. He eventually was somewhat handtamed and allowed out of his(?) cage. JJ was a nice bird, but he did bite once in awhile. I must say that Tango has never ever bitten me. I appreciate that alot! (JJ looked like this - normal)
