Yes Norm, I was expecting them to take between 10 days to 2 weeks but ONE week? That was real quick! They must've been very ready to get started!!

Dont worry he needs bringing down a peg or two. He plays just a bit too rough with her and nips her so I guess that's how she's getting back at him by taking up all the room in his bed!!

The yellow hen in the 3rd picture has a huge "egg bump" so an egg should appear very soon!! Another pair (which I failed to photograph ) have an egg as well, so all is going well so far!!!!

He's definately letting her know who's boss!

Well, Bella's finally home - here are just a few pics of her!! God,Mum! Dont you know I'm camera shy? How come she gets to take over my bed? Just cant make it down the last step- this'll have to do..... Her new collar (way too big yet!)

Today's the day!! I'm leaving in half an hour to go to Sydney to pick Bella up!!!!

I'm pretty sure its about 5-6 days from the time the "do the deed" :hap: till the first egg is laid, so they must've "done it" very shortly after pairing them up! I didnt notice her with any of the other birds, so I'm presuming he's the father!!

Good news everyone, I have my first egg for the year!!!! The green pair in the first photo are the proud parents-to-be!! Its only been a week since I paired them up!!

Hi guys, well I dont have to wait much longer now - I drive down to Sydney on Saturday morning to pick up Bella!!

Well I only have 5 days to go now before I pick Bella up!!!! Cant wait to see her in real life!!

As promised yesterday I have taken photos of my breeding pairs I put in their cabinets yesterday!! Hope to have eggs soon!!(for larger photo,click on black strip at top of photo) Hen is already in nestbox - refuses to budge! I love this pair - they're my favourite!

Well yesterday I paired my budgies up and put them in their breeding cages after having a nice long rest in their avairy.They almost immediately started inspecting the nest boxes etc so hopefully I can soon report the arrival of some eggs!! They are all in excellent breeding condition so I have my fingers crossed!!

Well there's only 8 days to go before I pick Bella up!!!! Cant wait,Monty is keeping me very busy, he's at that chewing stage where he sinks his little needle-sharp teeth into everything! He has "sit" and "shake hands" down pat so he's pretty good for 9 and a half weeks old!!

Glad you're enjoying your new additions to the family Kaz! Still waiting for some photos of your cavaliers! I will do the piks tomorrow....the dogs have knots in their long ear fur from pulling each other around by the ears...so I will tease out the knots tomorrow and bath them and then take some piks...sorry :hap: That's okay. I imagine you would be very busy with all your birds,cats,dogs etc etc-oh - and husband!!

No Bec Sta I dont know what movie she's going to be in but I will find out when I go down to pick her up!!

She's ready now but she's going to be in the movies and the film director needs her next week (and I need to save some money for her!!). So she's going to be famous!! Apparently they have been looking for this particular colour cocker for ages as its not very common. Cant wait to pick her up!!!!

He is going very well Maesie, but he's at the chewing stage and his teeth are like little pins! He's learning to sit and shake hands. Some days he'll do it straight away but other days,well, he's not all that interested. Toilet training is proving to be a bit of a headache but we're getting there - slowly.

I would have to be the luckiest person in the world. Just last week as some of you might know I got myself a gorgeous puppy (cocker spaniel) and I was very content and happy with my new addition. Just the other night my partner tells me he is buying me a little girl cocker and for me to have a look and find one I would like. Well, being one not to argue I quickly found one about 3 hours drive from here!!! She is just beautiful - she's the one on the right. I have already chosen a name - Bella (which coincidentally means beautiful) But I have to wait ANOTHER two weeks before I can pick her up.

No, not at all!!!! I'm letting my kids have the day off school (swimming carnival) so they can come with me!!!
