I'm So Excited!
That's great Deb!! I'm sure once you see them you'll want them all!!! I'l love to see them go to good homes (like ours) and not have to sit in tiny little cages at pet shops for god knows how long! Have fun!! Ian is very nice and extremely helpful.I offered to bring all his birds up to my place to "babysit" them while he is re-couperating after his operation. That way he could have them back when he's feeling better, but he politely declined the offer. So there are some top quality show budgies practically being given away!

I'm So Excited!
I bought 2 pairs of lovely looking birds today - I wish I was rich and bought the lot! There were some stunning looking birds there. A lot of them are large English show budgies. I will take some pics of them in the morning for you all. I have PM'd Deb who lives only half an hour away from the breeder and she is going to contact him. He's taking what's not sold privately to the pet shop on Saturday so I hope Deb is able to buy some. At least some of them will have gone to good homes!!

I Think I Have A Creamino!
I have never seen one in real life so its going to be extra exciting to watch it grow!! (Might even tame it and keep it as a pet!!) I hadnt even heard of creaminos until I joined the forum.

I Think I Have A Creamino!
Sorry Kaz for the large picture. I have always wondered how to breed a creamino and it just happened out of the blue! The mum is a yellow-face blue and the dad is a yellow pied. As I have NO IDEA about the genetics side of budgies, I am extremely lucky to have one without trying!!!

I Think I Have A Creamino!
I have 5 chicks in the nest. 3 of them are yellow, one I'm not sure yet as it hasnt feathered up yet , and one is a very pale lemony/creamy colour. Its face is a brighter lemon. It has red eyes. I'm wondering if it would be classed as a creamino????

At Last! An Egg!
Sadly my hen wont be laying anymore eggs for a while Maesie. She was quite sick today and had her in a hospital cage all day. I have put her eggs under another hen so hopefully they are fertile! She has improved tonight so fingers crossed she continues to improve.

Favourite Hen Egg Bound - Help!
I am happy to report that my hen's condition has improved, she spent the day in her hospital cage all nice and warm and she has brightened up a lot tonight. So maybe she wasnt egg bound! Hopefully what ever was wrong is gone now. I have taken the eggs and put them under another hen on eggs and will put her out in the avairy to recover once I'm sure she's okay.

Favourite Hen Egg Bound - Help!
My favourite hen that I was bragging about that had just started to lay is sick. She has laid 2 eggs, the 1st one on the 11.5. and the 2nd one on the 13th. She has left the nest and is just sitting on the perch all fluffed up and miserable. I checked her vent and it is quite swollen. I have never had a hen egg bound so I dont really know what it looks like. Please help! I have just given her some Calcivet and have put her in a nice warm hospital cage. Anything else I can do as I dont want to lose her!!!!

At Last! An Egg!
I have been waiting so long for my favourite pair to start breeding, I had almost given up and just now after getting home from work, I checked their breeding cabinet and noticed the hen was nowhere to be seen. I opened the nest box and there's a brand new shiny white egg!!!! What a great Mother's Day present from them!! They've made a perfect day even better!!

Only 3 Left!
Well the past few days have been quite hectic for me! I have found wonderful new homes for 9 out of my 12 babies, the new owners are absolutely thrilled with their tame baby budgies that are happy to sit on the shoulder and be stroked and fussed over!! They really do love the fact that their birds dont just sit in a cage and stare into space - they can actually be let out and interact with them! I miss them though, they become members of my family and its hard seeing them go.

I'm So Excited!
That's on the cards Neat! It's going to be very hard picking them, just might take them all!!

I'm So Excited!
I have just had a phone call from a breeder half an hours drive away and has given me first offer on his show budgies!!! The reason for selling them is he has to have a rather big operation and doesnt want to burden his wife with having to look after all his birds as he will be out of action for quite some time. He's only charging me $10 each for them so I think I'm getting a rather good bargain!! Going down on Thursday to have a look at them!!
