  2. I often ask myself when buying new birds ... Why are they Adults For sale .... Could t be that they are infertile.... Afterall why would one get rid of a perfectly good bird ..... Food for thought ...... Maybe a pet no longer wanted but not after 3 years ...... Yes, neat that crossed my mind as well. But as I bought it from a club sale and spoke to the seller personally about the bird, I trusted him to tell me the truth about him as he knew I wanted to breed from him.
  3. Will check his ring in the morning to make sure. Thanks for your help everyone.!
  4. Only about 3 years old. I bought him at a Budgie sale last year for the sole purpose of breeding him. He's not too old is he??
  5. Do you think Kaz by the photo that he fits that description??
  6. ... sorry... I'm tired and a little childish!I've never done it but I heard it helps so there is less chance they'll 'miss' :budgiedance: :hap: Yeah, I'm a bit childish too at times but what the heck!.I'd really love to breed from this bird so I might try trimming his vent first :hap: instead of plucking Thanks for the photos libby, will try trimming first and see what happens!
  7. I have tried to breed with this gorgeous cock bird with two different hens and all the eggs were clear, so I'm presurming he has a problem? I have just spoken to another breeder on the phone and he suggested I pluck the vents of hen and cock bird Does this make a difference if I do so? I'm a bit hesitant about it as I've never done it before.
  8. Thanks for that Kaz, will be very interesting to see what he looks like when all grown up!!

  10. Thanks missylu, I hope mine's going to be okay and it's just that its an albino or something similar. It's growing perfectly fine and has a nice full crop, just that it doesnt have the black eyes!
  11. I have just noticed that one of my chicks (2 days old) doesnt have the black eye sockets like all my other chicks. They are pink like the rest of him. I have never noticed this before on any of my chicks I have bred before, just wondering if that is going to be a problem? Or could it mean it will have red eyes?? Its parents are a yellow-faced green and a white/grey pied. Can post pics if you need to see the chick or the parents. Thanks for your help!
  12. I knew that! :yellowhead: :hap:
