Keeping Other Birds Away From Your Aviary
My cats always got a hard time from the miner birds. One was white all over and couldn't hide anywhere... she'd be curled up asleep in the long grass and the wretched miners would screech adn swoop at her... they're so aggressive, not even our cats were safe from their attacks!

Wing Clipping
Another important pro on the list for clipped wings is the bird's safety. I lost my first beautiful budgie Casper when he was out flying in the house and got a startle mid-flight (never worked out what it was, maybe just his refelction in the shiny dining table top!?). He flew into the wall and broke his neck. It was the most horrible experience because it all happened so quickly to my otherwise fit and healthy budgie. It was more than twelve months before I could bring myself to get another budgie, and needless to say, he has his little wings clipped. Smokey is perfectly happy with his short wings, and has become an expert climber and runner!

Someone Else's Opinion Please!
Wow, that's just bizarre. I can't believe that when the school concert or whatever committe got together to to discuss ticketing etc not one of them thought that the system that they had come up with was flawed... hmm. How odd! It seems so obviously stupid and no-one on the organising committee noticed! Iam sure there are plenty of other non-committee parents at the school who noticed!!!!!!!

Water Bottles Vs Water Dishes
in the past i have always had dishes, but when I got Smokey, I decided to go with one of the dropper type ones because i thought it would be a lot nicer for him to always have clean water, adn for me to be confident that if i was out and about a bit with uni and work etc, and not home to check his water dish as often as usual, his water would still be clean. As he was only young when I introduced it to him, he got the hang of it pretty quick. Initially i had dishes in there as well, and during handling time would just pop his beak next to the tube so he'd peck at it - he soon learnt that that is what makes the water come out... now the dropper is his best friend, and sometimes I wonder if I should go back to dishes to reduce his "infatuation" with his dropper!! We haven't had any problems with it clogging up at all, but that's probably becuse ther is only the one budgie using it!

Game: Go Fish
maybe, but not any time soon... living in a unit at the moment. Once we get a place of our own, I get an aviary, I master looking after more than pne budgie, then master breeding them, then maybe, just maybe I'd start thinking about showing! Do you like Doner Kebabs? (I just had one for lunch... yum!)

Can They Talk?
hehe... I dunno whether there are any words in there (like Liv said, you will prob recognise any words before we do!), but it does sound like there are snippes of "immitation human" voice, maybe? Smokey made a lot of noises which definitely weren't budgie singing, but sounded kind of human before he learnt to talk. They didn't make any sense at all, but he has since learnt to talk a bit.

Game: Go Fish
yes... anything that can be tinkered with, pulled apart, put back together...they're fun. I'm mot really into unneccesary stuff though - eg, the last item on my gadget list is a universal remote... all the experiences I'v had with them have been that yes, it is nice to just have one thingy, but it's more time consuming to change functions, program etc etc than it is to just pick up one of half a dozen remotes off the table! have you had a nasty cold this winter?

They remind me of the kinds of birthday cakes my mum used to make for my sister and I - What Australian kids hasn't had a Womens' Weekly Birthday Cake Cookbook cake (or something similar) for at least one birthday?? My favourite was always the train cake... lots of lollies! They're fantastic Denise!!
