Regurgitating Seed?
Excellent advice

I Need Some Help!
At two and a half weeks to three weeks the other siblings also feed their younger brothers and sisters in the nest.

Budgie
Gotta totally disagree with leaving it alone ....sorry. Its urgent you remove built up poop as it can block the further passage of poop and toxins can build up in the body. Health FIRST, taming second. Urgently get some lukewarm water and clean all the poop build up away. then put white paper under the perches and observe the state of the future poops to assess its health level. Let us know what the bird is like and its poop afterwards.

Birdroom Beginnings
Put them all in together. Bonds are broken as fast as a male budgie winking at the girl budgies. Bonds are something pet breeders get tied up in knots over and show breeders know doesnt amount to much of anything at all

Bleeding From Vent
items as in extruded pellet type additives in the mix. But Golden Cob is fine. Seperate her, check her over and get back to us.

Bleeding From Vent
and she is still in with the others ???? Why ? Any bird with issues, not well etc needs to be removed to a seperate cage for observation, maybe warmth from a lamp, and or treatment. Have you felt gently around the vent area to see if there is an egg ? Is the blood bright red or brownish ? How is she now ?? Any coloured seeds or items in this so called nutrient enriched seed blend ?

I Need Some Help!
The age they are....................and 4-5 weeks being fledging age......... I would have them sitting on a bedding of seed so they eat it..... and Feed them three times a day maximum. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=22446 If you had removed the mother and left the dad with them you wouldnt have had to do any of this. She did this to remove the chicks from the nest so she could start another clutch. Too much for their age when they should be at stage of self weaning. If you take my tip and put seed under them as bedding they will be eating from that. They can do this from two weeks of age. Reduce the feeds as you are feeding so much they dont have a chance to try eating for themselves. Remember they leave the nest and eat for themselves at age 4-5 weeks anyway

Can You?
Sounds like a good spot to put the aviary Use a bird net to enclose that end of the verandah as your safety area. Bird nets are cheap and easy to find at hardware stores.............its the bird netting used for fruit trees. You can most likely have ten budgies in that space.

When Should I Breed?
and they will come into condition again in March like you were advised is a better time of year to breed not now.
-
Can You?
No safety door...........you will lose birds out through the door every time you use it. Meantime get a net ( the kind that hangs over beds off a hoop ) and attach it above the door..............step in through the net to open the door and any escapes will be caught in the net section before they get away. When not in use, throw the net up on top of the aviary. Dont risk going through a door with no safety net in place.

Df Rung Birds 2010/2011 Breeding Season
Brilliant news !!!! I am so pleased for you !!! Great job

Can You?
I wouldnt. I think they need to acclimatise from a few months earlier if the weather is going to be hot. Some aviaries rooflines are too low increasing how hot it is. Some aviaries have no shade. Its all very well to consider the temperature earlier in the day when they go in, but if the roofline is low and radiates heat, if theres no shade then its not much better than putting them in an oven. You say young budgies ? How young ?

Is This French Moult Please?
Thanks for the confirmation (I guess). Absolutely heartbroken. So I have a breeding pair Coco and Charlie in the house, their first two chicks are in a cage next to Cinnamon and Marvin's first three to fledge (french moult) are they contaminated too. Coco and Charlie with their next clutch are at the other end of the house - are they okay? Its a virus so most likely but not necessarily. It can affect some and not others visually. others can carry but not lose feathers. Do I take the nesting boxes out that are empty - I have 6 - Box 1, 2 and 3 have chicks 5 weeks old and younger (one of them the french moult chicks). Box 4 and 6 are empty but box 5 has a pair nesting but this is their second clutch and they are infertile again I think. Remove nestboxes ? Yes, I would There are 2 male quails in the bottom of the aviary - are they contaiminated too? Some species arent affected. I think your quails will be fine So do I remove some nesting boxes or wait the next until the younges has fledged (Sunday 12 December the youngest will be 5 weeks). they are fledging age anyway......4-5 weeks fledging age Do I have to sterilise the aviary and nesting boxes? I read somewhere to throw out the french moult nest box or do I have to throw them all out? I also have a rabbit hutch behind the enclosed bit of the aviary with Chinese Quails and chicks and eggs - will they be contaminated too or okay. Some feathers from the aviary are going on the hutch. I dont think you can rid the virus this way.....its a virus not a contaminant.................. What else do I need to do? Start again later next year and dont add any new birds

Is This French Moult Please?
Unfortunately you do have french moult going through. Best course of action usually is to shut down breeding entirely and not breed for around 6 months.
