  1. NO. ......Mo is definitely a hen unless the scalyface has hidden the true cere colour ( which can happen )
  2. I also agree with Finnie...........and act fast or the Mum could kill this baby to get it out of the way of her next clutch.
  3. Personally, I dont allow any cracked eggs to say in the box for any period of time. A cracked egg leaks...it can stick to the mothers chest or it can stick to other eggs, causing problems.
  4. This is a hybrid pink and grey galah crossed with corella, so very much like the ones I saw in the wild flock
  5. I dont think the chick in the cracked egg will survive. In a day or two you may see some dark marks on the shell indicating a dead in shell chick.
  6. Just want to add................ LOVELY PHOTOS
  7. Yellowbelly is also seen in early hatchings and isnt due to infection but to the yolk absorption thing. Bad timing, early hatching, things not working out thats all.
  8. Generally when there is blood the chick will bleed out and die. If air gets in the chick will stick to the shell and dry out too.
  9. Please take a close up photo of cere...........macro setting on your camera. Natural light, no flash used. Then we can sex your budgie for you
  10. "Brands" are not what we use.................as some of us are show breeders or have quantities of birds we buy our seed in bulk in large sacks with no brands as such written on it. Seek the grains mentioned and dont expect to find them in name brand packets on a supermarket shelf. Go to a stockfeed supply place
  11. If budgies and parrots can eat chillies then a lemon will pose no issues
  12. It would be unusual to get a bird of marks for $400.............an average would be $1,000 upwards.
  13. Welcome Dan Good to have you here
  14. and make sure the perches stay clean of poop.
  15. Your lutino is a green budgie. Green is dominant. Paired to a blue bird you will only get greens unless the green bird ( your lutino ) is split for blue
  16. That stepping up routine is good for this purpose. I use the same method with our princess parrots when they get bitey. Works a treat.
  17. Good information ecca and thanks....but the original poster of this question posted it 2 yrs ago.
  18. Your lutino could be masking ANYTHING so expect surprises.
  19. Means her first time breeding or she hasnt been bred before.
  20. Decimate answers or definite answers ? I deleted your impatient posts...............bear in mind people have lives and things to do especially on weekends. I am not hanging around here all the time. Sometimes my pc is on but I am not. Not everyone is into all the types of questions on here either...some are more expert in other areas etc. Try and remember that green is dominant when breeding budgies....anytime you pair a green budgie to a blue budgie you will get green babies UNLESS a parent of the green budgie was blue. Then that green budgie is called split blue and you will have a chance of blue babies.
  21. Hi and welcome Your budgie looks real sweet. Closer cere photos ( macro camera setting, no flash, natural light ) will help us sex your budgie for you. Cheers kaz Co Admin
