She's rather beautiful Splat. Clearwings are in the too hard basket for me, besides the fact they always look like petshop birds. Go for the dilute breeding mate
  6. Join the queue! There seems to be many people making a paly for our birds here Kaz. It is a shame that the third one did not make it, as you could have auctioned it off to the highest bidder. Oh well, not everyone can be as lucky as us to have such great birds. When can i expect delivery by the way? :hap: :hap: :hap:
  7. He's a cute budgie and is looking good in those photos......is a 2007 bird so 2 going on 3 yrs old.
  8. He looks normal to me and very healthy looking too. He seems to be a grey greywing ? A.I.L. deals quickly with feather mites. I also use ivermectin spot on for any incoming birds. A.I.L. is also useful for any creepy crawlies in birdrooms
  9. Looks like it needs cleaning already :D
  10. I had a magnificent white df spangle cock. Recently in my aviary there was an extra df white spangle hen..........It was this cock, who would now pass for a female.
  11. Do you want to share your calcium block recipe ?
  12. Tonights piks...they are using the new equipment My floor dweller....
  13. I have those balls for my birds. I attached them to chains and hang them of the bottom of the perching. I also throw them in the baby cages. They are great. Does yours have bells inside Kaz? I might hang some up too Yes they have a bell inside. These balls are tennis ball sized ones. They wrestle with them and tumble over them and fight over possession of the soccer ball. Its fun watching them play
  14. Psychologically also Dave it makes a huge difference. The feeling you get walking through the birdroom and out into the aviary...the space....not having to duck under stuff....room to catch birds.....room to move around without freaking the birds out ( they just move over if need be )...its all good We love our woodworking dont we Splat PS Its helped by my drillpress I got back from my Dads house
  15. It is a hot day today. In the old aviary all the birds are on the ground. In the new flights only 30% are on the ground. The rest seem happy to stay on their perches. I made some new perches for the birds. This one is hinged to the hinged perching rack...so when the perching rack goes against the wall for cleaning the little perching rack folds back on it too. The little perching ladder is for any ground dwellers ( I have ONE ) and I just made this one to hang and swing and swivel just before the open end of the aviary. Cost under $30 Size 1.8m tall, perches 30cm wide pushed through. wine rack perching ( $1-$2 each from st Vinnies or salvos ) Baby budgies soccer balls ( yes they do play with these )

Eggs take 18-21 days from time of incubation ( consistently keeping them warm ). Over a month is too long assuming you have counted correctly. Do the eggs look white or pinkish ? Do you have a male with your female ? If you arent a breeder why is there a nestbox ? Are you colony breeding or cage breeding one pair only ? Cracked eggs must be removed. Can you give more information please ? :celebrate: Here is the difference between a fertile egg and a non fertile egg fertile egg on the left non fertile on the right.
  21. Best to wait till the wings grow back before putting in an aviary or add a tall ladder or branches so she can climb if need be :celebrate:
  22. Lovely budgies :celebrate: Snowy is a female and her feet wont affect her breeding...she may have had a lack of calcium as a chick. She is red eyed and that makes her an albino
