It really sounds like you had a big adventurous day out Splat, and you came home with some good birds too ( bonus ) ..........I would bet you are beat. Feet up, something to eat, a glass of wine perhaps and off to noddyland eh :bump: Forgot to mention the carry cage.........what a little ripper it is !!! Great size for twice that many. I am going to be able to use it well while its here. The handle on the top is brilliant. The Ausytralia Air Express people made me go into an aviary they have there, get the birds out, and empty the seed into a container. Then I had to net the birds, put back in the cage and head home :PThey have done well for all that....and easy to handle birds which is all to Splat's credit.

I just got back from the airport with Splats birds. They travelled very well....no injuries, no stress....poops are normal so showing no negative signs of stress or travel all the way across Australia. Currently all together in a flight cage.....they are happy singing and flying about. Some of them are romancing each other. http://s741.photobucket.com/albums/xx57/pr...nt=adf92772.pbw

Help With Mutations Please...
Did you pull them straight from the aviary for breeding or was she seperated from the colony birds for awhile ? Was she friendly with any birds in the aviary before she went into the breeder cage

My Aviary....start To Finish
Yesterday I did a trade with a glazier I do leadlight repairs for. I did a small leadlight repair for them and traded for a brand new security screen for the front aluminium window of the new flights. I also got trade price so it was way cheaper value-wise than one they would make for the general public. They also meshed it with the steel flymesh stuff. Ken put it in when he got home.

On loan for the day you mean ? Yeah. The worst part about not having the birds I use to have is I can only bring three birds on Sunday and there are all single factor GF's. But they are all at least three different colours. I will ask. Would be a pain if they are down breeding

Well Kaz my dearest you don't drink AND you have a much better head for genetics than I .... but yes, I can see our brave lecturers being driven to drink ... I will endeavor to provide "quality" alcohol so the hang over isn't too severe! Me, not drink ??!! This is not true. I just dont drink and drive. There is a difference I am a VODKA girl when I drink

My Aviary....start To Finish
You are right Shannon...there is so much room in there that the birds all look smaller and less of them in comparison. Yes...all in there I bred.

I dont know how we are going to take all this in at our YELLOWFACE SYMPOSIUM on Sunday if alcohol is in the equasion. OR is the alcohol for our lecturers who will NEED IT SEVERELY trying to get all this stuff drilled into our heads

My Aviary....start To Finish
Back on topic................ Most of the young birds are now in their section of the aviary and learning to find their way around. Here's the poor Dommie Pied baby that I accidentally "removed" all his tail feathers ( but he is doing okay in the flights he can fly but his balance and steering is a bit cockeyed and here is a young grey spangle cock you may recognise HINT
