  6. I can lend you show cages. Any birds going in the show have to have both main tailfeathers and all wing flights, and no pin feathers on their head
  7. Why will you do the rest tomorrow? You should have done it all while you had the chick in your hand.
  8. Maybe his perch was slippery because he gave them both a good working over before he got on the bench Maybe also...the poor budgie could have had SPLINTERS and not looked his best at the time he had to show ?
  9. Maybe his perch was slippery because he gave them both a good working over before he got on the bench We did and what did he do...he blamed his wife and said it wasnt his bird...it was hers
  10. Yesterday at the budgie show at Southwest there was a budgie that caught my eye. Not secifically because of the budgie although he was nice, but the fact he was in the Recessive Pied category against other recessive pieds but he was in fact a spangle recessive pied, looking more spangle than a recessive pied. I wonder what was the point of putting him in ? and from our resident judges here on BBC...could someone tell me please how you judge a bird that is a combination like this ? is there a degree of difficulty ? do any thoughts go through your head that perhaps it shouldnt be shown against recessive pieds ? Is there another category it should have gone in ? Just questions I have been wondering about The recessive pied spangle in question..............
  11. I suggested the well known breeder of this bird take him home and pair him up with any hen that looked like a perch

  13. HERE http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=13358 you should have been doing baby budgie checks including beaks well before now. Please read the article and remember for next time.
  14. Sorry. cockatiels arent my thing That's okay, another thing, the youngest baby is 2 weeks and 3 days old, does that mean that i should clean them all and check over them now, if so exactly how should i do it? we have taken them out and held them in front of the cage once before, but we didin't do anything to them. Read my article in the FAQ section on CARE OF BABY BUDGIES IN THE NEST. Checks and care of baby budgies should be done daily once you have chicks.
  15. Sorry. cockatiels arent my thing

  22. AHA well, from what you said about that cage in the other post Ratzy....I'd say thats a bargain and yes...the bird sales do have some great stuff at very good prices. So do a lot of budgie clubs if they have a products table.
