  7. Well Maggie is pregnant and due anytime between the weekend and Wednesday. She is sleeping indoors at night from now on as its been too cold, and we havent got a definite date of delivery ( due to no witnessed date of mating )...........so just in case she starts delivering sooner than we think she is sleeping with me. So we are counting down to the puppies. Maggie caught a rat last night ( good girl maggie ) and she walked around carrying it in her mouth for about 20 minutes. She wanted to save it for later but her mother Cricket was trying to get it off her, so she went into the kennel and ate half of it.
  8. what I do sometimes with eggs when Mum lays and chicks are too young and in the nestbox
  9. When this has happened to me, it depends on age of chicks and if I want the next round to proceed. If chicks are nearly at fgledging stage and you want the next round, then I remove them to a container on the floor of the breeder cage so the Dad can care for them. If the chicks are young and need to be in the nestbox still you can remove the eggs and hold onto them for a week or so. All depending on age of chicks and what you want to do about the next clutch. Matt wasnt aware of the seed in nestbox. You dont need the millet sprays in this case as well as the seed.
  10. It is rare that a hen pushes her eggs out .........you may find another female has done this.
  11. There is a contact us link on the page and they are very well known parrot trainers http://www.birdtricks.com/about-us.html
  12. Cayenne Pepper: Cayenne pepper is loaded with Vitamins A and C, B-complex, potassium, iron and calcium. It increases fat metabolism and reduces fat deposits – great for birds with, or with proneness to, fatty liver disease. It stabilizes bleeding, shock and has been known to stop heart attack. It returns blood pressure to normal and improves circulation. http://www.birdtricks.com/blog/spices-to-a...nd-good-health/
  13. Maggie is due to have her pups in a few days. The cavaliers found a rat nest under some logs Ken was moving today. Here is Maggie with her prize

  20. he's looking good Dave.............Plumpish even nice head on him eh ?
  21. Another chick hatched and the pair now also have a couple of foster chicks. A novice hen wasnt feeding her babies correctly and she let a couple die so I had to move three. One of those died though. So there are five in that nest.............it seems three of the foster parents chicks and two fosters.
  22. I think so too
