  2. great post nubbly !!!!
  3. Here is a lacewing hen I once had and she was opaline. It may help you work out about the markings and if it makes a difference
  4. Well.......it isnt nerve damage. The vet has seen the bird. He says it does not appear to be gout as he hasnt developed white nodules nor is the feet swollen. No nerve damage as there is feeling in the feet and everything else works so nerve damage is discounted. Feet are "frozen" as high as the hock area. Diagnosis at this stage is possible septic arthritis which may or may not respond to antibiotics and anti inflammatories. Vet says a week will tell the story but has given me enough meds for two weeks. One drop baytril to the beak twice a day and one drop antiinflammatory by beak twice a day also. Also has to have physio.....pedalling the legs from the hips like bicycle riding and gentle movement of the toes.
  5. Yes.....it is the treatment we all use for scalyface that exists not as a preventative.
  6. That one is most likely a SKY VIOLET GREYWING.
  7. And where do you buy the temperature gauge from? Cheers Bunnings...around $12
  8. Youngest in this nest is dilute and greywing sibling
  9. Omelettes four babies Two in one foster nest and two of hers from another foster nest Omelette has begin laying another clutch with a skyblue cock I bred that has won a couple of Best Blue in shows
  10. I think your lotion for you will be fine. It would be more of an issue if it was avocado a la naturale and being eaten by the birds.
  11. Give them a chance GB ...........I recall an olive green chick once that was worse than pet sized and after 8 months in the aviary where I really just forgot about letting him go there.........I caught a bird up one day thinking WOW !! Where did you come from ?? and realised once I caught him that he was that pint sized chick with A few extra "muscles and feathers" and wow what time gives to some birds !! Hasty judgements can result in other benefitting from our culls that do grow on with time
  12. I will have no idea as I have never experienced this kind of thing before.
  13. **KAZ** replied to splat's topic in Cage Discussion
Its not about whether or not its high enough for your personal height Splat, ......the higher the roof the cooler it will be inside. It allows you to go higher up with breeding cabinet or storage etc. I have a step ladder in my birdroom to access anything taller than me. My breeding room is 2.4 high and 2.7 at the apex of the gable in the middle. Aviary flights are 2.4m high also. Go as high as you can....it will help. I insulated using the polyester batting in the walls and lined the inside too. Big difference.
  14. if its an energy saver globe there wont be heat coming from it. The government banned all other globes and they are no longer available http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....4&hl=globes
  15. Hard to know where it starts and begins. All seems "frozen" .. Vet apptmt isnt till Thursday morning now. The best avian vet isnt available till then. Meanwhile he seems okay and is perching in the hospital cage.
  16. I thought the whole point of "Off Topic Chatter" was for that.... to talk about things that aren't about budgies. Maybe you should edit the description about only posting pictures NO.........read up the top
  17. This is a budgie forum and not a tiel one. Off topic is for posting pictures and not getting into discussions about tiels really. So if you arent on a tiel forum yet, check out staff member Liv's tiel forum and you can go there and talk tiels all you like
  18. I doubt the olive oil had anything to do with it. Scalyface can attack a bird that has a low immune system. She obviously has other things going on too.
  19. We arent thinking about anything. We are looking at the cage. If you say its big enough, show a picture with the tiels in it.
  20. Chances are they will put her on baytril.
  21. Soluvite D breeder is an excellent product and yes I would be using that. You did not elaborate on your first post and I was saying really not the generic multivitamins.
  22. Respiratory infection and one that needs urgent vet care. You cant fix this at home. Off you go NOW !!
