How About A "poofy Contest"
I love the wet and puffy photo! So cute!

Home Made Toys..
I pick most of my stuff up at the dollar store - beads, etc. So toys are probably less than a dollar to make. Big buttons would also work well.

Yawn
Cute. If you hadn't said she was yawning, I would have said she was talking to her "friend" in the mirror. I love her green patches. Nice!

Pics Of My Babies
Here are a few recent pics of the birds. Enjoy! Here are Puddin' and Daffodil in their quarantine cage Tazzy and Wylie hanging out on the swing - I think they look so sweet together here! My darling Tazzy. I think he is my favourite. Shhhh! Don't tell the others! Daffodil grabbin a quick bite. She still won't turn her back to big scary me And Sylvester and Tweety with Taz. They sure are looking shabby during this molt. Poor Tweety looks really rough today with many of her face feathers gone.

Budgiebirds New Aviaries
The aviaries are simply amazing. Oh I wish I lived in Australia, or some warm climate where I could have outside facilites for my birds. We are a two weeks from spring here. There is still some snow on the ground. Wonderful!

What Colour Am I?
Thanks. That helps A LOT! And is Daffodil is a dark green (one dark factor)?

What Colour Am I?
And Daffodil would be a opaline clearflight pied but is not dominant because she doesn't have the band of clear colour across the belly??? She does have a small spot on her head. I'm basing that on info at Budgie/Parakeet Mutations (scroll way down). . So does that mean there are three types of pieds - pied, dominant pied, and recessive pied?

With Death Comes New Life......
Lovely little budgie. I like the yellow on the wing. I'm guessing her flights will be yellow too.

Yellow Face
My Tazzy has his chest stuck out a lot. I recall reading a post where some budgies are much "piggier" than others and load up their crops. Handsome looking bird you have there.

What Colour Am I?
I recently introduced you all to daffodil and puddin. Puddin has some amazing blues colours on her back. The top is almost violet and then near her tail she is skyblue colour. This isn't the greatest picture but I hope it captures it somewhat. I'm trying to get one without a flash but no luck so far. And she is too wild to gake out of the cage. What colour would she be? Cobalt? And is she an opaline pied? The wing markings remind me somewhat of pied markings? Or is that just because she is opaline.

I've Gone Mad.... 2 More Birds
I was out tonight and the urge hit me again. So I came home with two lovely girls. I'm running out of Looney Tunes character names so I've decided on Daffodil and Puddin'. I've been to this pet store on many occasions and I've always hesitated about getting birds from them because they were older and most of their flock were normals. But today I was feeling sorry for them. They are both opalines. And one has clear flight feathers. Puddin' actually has amazing colour along her back. She has some violet, some blue, and some sky blue. It is really quite neat (you can't see it in these pics). I bought another cage and these girls are going in quarantine upstairs. Yes for the entire 30 days and maybe even longer. They do not have clipped wings, and are very "wild". I'm not sure if I'll bother to tame them. We'll see how things go. I'm guessing they are 6-9 months old. You can see the iris ring on Daffodil. So here they are: Puddin' Daffodil Nice shot of their backs So can someone let me know if I have "typed" them wrong. Thanks so much!

My Birds Are Getting Older
70 birds! Awesome. Do you have multiple aviary's? It would be lovely to see a picture of a big group of them. You take great pics of your birds!

Help Sexing Emmy
This is my mom's baby Emmy. She was born on December 1, 2005. I have been back and forth on the sex. Her dad is a yellow/green recessive pied with a very white cere. Emmy's cere is similar to her daddy's so I say male, but then when I see her in pics, I say female. AGH! Note: One of her nares looks odd because mommy started pecking at her one day when she was little. Bad mommy! This is Emmy. This is Emmy's daddy. This is Emmy and her mommy!

Some Of The Things I Got For My Birthday
Oh you are so lucky. What a wonderful birthday present. The aviary is awesome and the budgies are sweet. How cold is it in the UK this time of year? I see one tree in the pics with leaves, but the other looks to be bare. We have a couple feet of snow here righ tnow so it is far to cold for birds to be outside. What about Fergie and Cammy (or Milla) for the girls, and Andy for your other boy - going with nicknames for the royal family.
