Is there anything in this type of mix that would be dangerous for budgies? It looks like it has a lot less millet in it, so I thought I could mix it with regular budgie seed to and give them a little more variety.

The platform is a cool feature - wish mine had at least one. I'll have to see if I can rig something up. I can see lots of uses for it So it came with that long ladder too?

Well I've been spending lots of time with Max so he doesn't get lonely. I took him in on my son's bed today He quickly crawled in close to me. He likes to climb up to my face and snuggle in my hair :P He did a little bit of exploring too. I thought this picture was cute because I caught him mid stride. I went out and bought him one of those snuggle huts right away so that he'd having something warm and cozy to cuddle with when I'm at work. Do you think I could put a small stuffed animal in too?

Oh my poor Jewel. I will remove her and keep an eye on the spot closely. Will the same thing happen when I reintroduce her? I wonder if it has something to do with food? Jewel is very possessive of food dishes when she gets in them. Would that trigger someone pecking at her?

I was using a queen size sheet but changed to a white shower curtain to let a little more light in (night frights). Lin- what is a doona?

When I came home from work today I did my usual check of the birds. I noticed the back of Jewel's head looked a little odd. I was concerned that maybe she had bumped it the other night when they had the night fright. So I brought her out to examine more closely. It looks like she has been plucked there. But it is a spot where she wouldn't be able to reach. Is it possible that one of the other birds is plucking her? Could she be rubbing her head on something? Or is there an illness that causes feather loss in certain areas. I don't see any other spots on her with missing feathers. She is acting fine. If you lift up the other feathers it is probably a spot about 4-5 mm around.

He arrived in the petstore around Easter time. I'm guessing he is a couple months old.

I'm keeping Max in my son's playroom for quarantine. It is the safest place for him to be (the cat can't get in) and it is a floor away from the rest of the gang. I'm trying to spend lots of time with him so he doesn't get lonely, and hopefully so he will tame well. So far things are going really well. He's not a biter, doesn't mind being picked up, will step up after a couple gentle pushes against his tummy. He really is precious So I took a few pics - of course. Look at that sweet face. Here he is resting on one of my sons little chairs. And here is the little king of the castle. Enjoy!

I am going to use a new cover too- a lighter sheet. Right now I'm using a blue one. I'll try that and see how things go. I'll keep everyone posted. I'm glad their fluttering didn't scare Max. He was out on the kitchen table. He is now upstairs in my sons playroom far away from their activty and chirps. I left the radio on for him when I went to work today so he wouldn't get too lonely. I can't wait to get home and check on him.

I've gone to this site many times but never end up making anything. I'm a visual person and need pictures!!! If anyone makes them, they should send pics along to the site and ask that they be posted. They do have lots of great ideas though.
