I know here in the states you would need approval too but one thing I didn't see is a double entry door where so you don't have any budgies escaping . You can also go to the aviary section of our site and WOW there are so many ideas along with Daz's own journal about building his aviary

Lettuce gives them runny poos but you can give as a treat to bathe in if they like. Avocado and Chocolate are toxic and kill them. Yes what dimensions are you thinking of for your aviary? Keep in mind that budgies like to fly back and forth not up and down so the longer the better rather then tall. Also if you are not going to give them out time of their cage you want to ensure this cage will fullfill their flying needs where they can bounce back and forth. To give you an idea of sizes and cages visit the aviary cage forum where there are pics posts of different member's set ups.
  4. my advise is don't use something that you don't need to use especially on birds because their immune systems are so sensative. If you suspect mites and lice run them up to the avian vet for a complete inspection. If the poos are green it can indicate illness unless you just feed them something green but even then it is not right. Green poos can indicate inflammation of the liver but we really can't diagnosis your bird since we are not vets and can't give it a complete physical exam. I suggest setting an appointment with an avian vet to throughly examine your bird.
  5. your right iceberg lettuce has no nutrients and can cause runny poos. This is the website I use http://www.birds-online.de/nahrung/obst_en.htm plus on this website there is PINNED topics above the regular topics.

Welcome aboard you will love this bunch
  15. Like the name change and they turned out to be a gorgeous clutch Bea , great job.
  16. I would say call the avian vet in your area and ask about the medicine you are describing as no one here should tell you to give them medicine unless avian related or non prescribed. As for the wing let it molt out I know it looks horrible but just like a scab if we mess with it, it could restart the bleeding. Hope that helps a bit.
  17. Warning 0% should be there if you received any warning about behavior or something incorrect on our boards the bar and it will read 0% unless you have been warned. Admin would tell you about the warning. So you haven't done anything wrong. Admin is the only one that gives warning . Congrats on your success

hmmm Scot said the same thing I did whichever , I did a search and didn't find anything but that site. With the mottling just as the feather dusters sounds like there may be a genetic disorder involved too as Daz said that they don't live very long after they mottle .
  21. Here is an interesting article I picked up while doing a search scroll almost all the way down and it talks about the grey marking vs the brown. Very interesting and unquie color patterning.
