Arny & Minnie ~ Budgie Vs. Cat
I have a couple experiences but let me tell you this one that just happened. Some how and I don't know how I truly don't Merlin got out of his cage. My daughter came running in panic saying Merlin was sitting on the curtian rod and the cats were out. I ran in the house and there was Merlin on the curtain rod, Mollii was on the piano inches from him, Mahria on the couch and Maxx on the ground. I thank the Lord that Merlin's flights have grown back enough (good reason not to clip) where he could fly high. The cat the first time was scared but let me tell you after they have seen them around enough they will want to get him. They may not have the kill instinct and that is probably what saved Merlin too but they can scratch and bite which is fatal. Keep kitty locked up with bird out and vs versa. Pretty in my siggy loved my cats but only from the bars. I have a picture of me holding the cat's paws down as he preens his head. He loved to try and preen them through the cage bars and always supervised because paws can go through bars too. I hate to be a downer but cats will be cats.

Budgies And Curtains
I can't turn my curtians around. I got a cheap spray bottle from the drug store or dollar store . I didn't use anything that had cleaners or chemicals in it. though I bet instead of turning them around if you can't laying towel on them would help too

Big Lump
((hugs)) it sounds like she may be going down hill...I know you want to hear something different. Keep her warm it may perk her up but with her poos being runny and light green (unless she ate something different) doesn't sound good. Give her love, kisses as you are if she like millet give this to her too.

Baby Budgies Barred Foreheads:
Merlin didn't have hardly any barlines as in my picture and he has his iris rings very quick?? I got him around 8 wks...and that is actually an excellent age to tame to be honest not too old at all. Right out of the nest pretty much.

:budgiedance: the funny thing about this little one is that you can already see the iris rings coming in at such a young age (Merlin was like that too) odd huh?

Cage Troubles
Good I am glad you are getting your money back from the other one. OMG about the new cage. Your expections are not too high you expect a cage with no rust that is realistic. Just like when you buy anything new it should be in excellent condition. The saga continues :budgiedance:

Updated - Recent Article In The Sunday Age M Magazine (melbourne)
Did you send a letter to the editor about this article? The sad thing is that I read this kind of misinformation everywhere not just in newspapers but on the net and more... 15 minutes a day is all your budgies needs, fresh food and water that is it daily...very saddening.
