I ask because many times you will find in dominant pieds that they can go half blue and still have that pink on them, I agree with Liv on her conclusion that his cere is just maturing at a slower rate or he is younger then you thought?
  11. Can you explain more how you obtained your budgies did you get them all at once or did you get the first one and then get the other 3 together? Who did you get them from? Where they handled at all? Also the one that is very young that you called tamed, I am going to say you had it for just a week or so maybe and it is not that it is tamed but most likely too scared to move which can be seen as tame. Around the 3-4 mark period they start to get bolder and let you know how they truly feel which is usually frighted. What do you consider tame?
  12. Welcome :hi: We have a great forum called Food and Nutrition where you can ask your answer and get more exposure along with that in our FAQ we have a Food and Nutrution section that gives you ideas about foods and what types and helpful hints on how to get them to try them.
  13. Awe those last 2 pictures are simply adorable, I do hope that you have submitted one for the Budgie of the Month Contest :hi:. Thank you for sharing.

Awesome pics, even the flower :hi: very nice, I love the first one's and how her white cheek patches contrast against her coloring.
  15. Too cute, my fav is the one with you and him together
  16. Very cute, macka is correct above do not breed 2 crested together. I believe if you do a search you will find I believe it was MB or AV that bred her crested and I left a good link on there on breeding crests it is important to read it over before you decide to breed them.

If you do a search here and just in the net you will find that a Feather Duster is a Chromosmal Defect, and the reason why they don't live long is that their feathers continously grow which deprives the bird's body of nutrition. Kaz and Daz have had personal experiences with having a feather duster.
  19. 5 days she is still brand new and getting adjusted if you wait you will probably see over the course of the month she will starts to eat her millet spray if you just leave it in there, she probably won't take food from your hand at this point so I would just work with having her step up and then down or just leaving your hand in there for short intervals. Merlin didn't eat millet either in the beginning.
  20. In the FAQ under the Food Section there are suggestions and ways on how to start getting your budgies adjusted to eating foods other then seed, seed is helpful in this process because you can sprinkle it on their food and they will start to pick off the seed but also start to get a taste of the other foods, it can take time, it can be frustrating and you will waste food but in the end they will start to eat it, it may take a few months but it is worth it .
  21. Let's see how this goes, I know some of you are computer whizzes at making up these types of things up. This is our "emblem" now for Budgie of the Month, I would like to be able to switch it around but I don't have the software or the smarts to make up a really cool one. I am asking the members of this forum to see if they can create awesome emblems that we can add to peoples signatures when they win the Budgie of the Month!! If your emblem is accepted we will use it for the monthly winners. We will ask you permission to upload it to BBC's photobucket for future use. If you are game there is really only 1 rule don't have it any bigger then 280x150 and of course be creative!! Please don't use any copyrighted materials. If you have questions PM me, if not please post your creation right here on this post. Here is the one we have now
  22. Yes, DEC aka Dark Eyed Clear
  23. okay, I believe I added all pictures that were within the size regulations, if you don't see your picture let me know ASAP through the PM system. Leave no comments or questions here just voting!!! This will stay open for 2 weeks so it gives everyone a chance to vote including new members since there are so many awesome pictures. Please give it up to a minute if you have a slower computer or internet speed for all the pictures to show up.
  24. I was told once that Austin (the last one) was a double factor?? Double Factor Pieds will have a blue cere not a pink one and will develop iris rings at least in 1 eye. With the cere staying pink I would agree it is a Dark Eyed Clear if there is no iris ring. Lacey's throat spots look brownish but if they are grey then I say she is a Dominant Pied Dilute you can see the light banding around her chest, I didn't type it the first time but Neville confirmed it in his answer what I was seeing.
