My Budgies Colour (and Sex/cere Question) Help Please!
The first one is in my opinion a fullbody greywing because the body is bright and the wings are grey. A greywing is diluted. The first one is debatable for me if you can get another picture without flash in the good lighting that would really help. The 2nd one I agree there with Kaz Very pretty birds. what is the behavior of the first one? Does it act more male or female?

What Do I Do With My Bird?
Egg laying needs to be nipped in the bud and I wonder if the hen is actually older then they told you. This can lead to calcium deficiency, egg bound etc... Here are some ways and some are already mentioned above. reduce the light to 10 hours or less per day. If she is mating with a toy, food dish, part of the cage, etc. and the item is removable, remove it. If possible change her environment. That is -- move the cage to a different location, rearrange all the perches, dishes, etc. Change all the toys. OR temporarily house her in a spare cage. Cut back on the availability of bathing water. Do not let the bird access dark, enclosed spaces Do not let your bird shred paper this is part of making a nest Make sure calcium (mineral blocks or cuttlebone) is available so her calcium deposits do not become depleted. If you already have eggs it is better to let the hen sit on them rather than removing them. It is instinctive for a bird to replace the eggs that were "destroyed by predators" until she has a full clutch. She may go on and on laying until she depletes her calcium and ruins her health. Or you can remove the eggs with fake eggs.

No Vet!
I would do what Daz said and then ask if they know of anyone in the area that you may have overlooked that specializes in birds. You may be amazed what you will find :glare:

Could This Really Happen?
something important that we must all remember is that when we are young we are our living in our parents house we must sit down with them and go over expections. Budgies and babies do get sick, do you have the money or are your parents willing to pay for an avian vet bills that may arise? Where will the babies go? What if your bird has 5-8 babies successfully will you keep them and if you do do you have the room? Will you sell them and to whom? How will you go about the screening process to make sure each of your babies gets a "forever" home? There is more then raising a successful clutch but the future of the babies. There are so many budgies that are abandoned, placed in rescue organization because of over populations, people adopting and not realizing what they got themselves into or simply unforeseen circumstances. Think good and hard because those babies are cute they grow fast and must go somewhere.

My Boys
Congratuatlions :glare: He is beautiful. As Nerwen said you will know more if he is dominant or recessive if his iris rings come in and his cere may start to change blue instead of staying pink like with the male recessive pied. They reminde me of my 2 together. Pretty was a sky blue recessive pied and Merlin is a dominant pied Now the count down beginning to when they will be able to met

Easier Said Than Done
how wonderful, it is a relief to know you don't have to worry about the noise your birds make for sure :budgiedance:. Time will settle him down, he will get used to the birds and will either ignore them or protect them. My girlfriend has a shephard and they also have a rabbit. They have co-existed together with no issues but she of course is always in the room and watchful. Me on the other hand would never let my husky and a rabbit together that would be diaster on the rabbits part. Keep us updated, by the way if you have pics of him I would love to see him in off-topic. Shephards are one of my favorite breeds.
