6 New Feathered Friends
- What / How To Feed Grasses To Budgies
I'm not sure what the grasses were in your pictures but a good way to get grass that is safe for them is to plant your own.. I get a small pot of soil and sprinkle over some of the bird seed mix, keep it moist and its only then a matter of days before it starts to shoot.. takes a while to grow but at least i know it cant be too bad for them since its been germinated from the seed that they eat- 6 New Feathered Friends
You could call the Olive one Gherkin .. although he looks too cute to pull out of my Mc donalds burger to toss away :(Laughing out loud):- Runny Poos
How are they all going Bea?- Worried About Scooter
i TOTALLY agree with Elly on this one.. even if you are slightly unsure, make a vet appointment.. as we all know its a Budgies survival instinct to "hide" the fact that s/he is unwell to keep predators at bay.. Good Luck- Zeuss And Sophie
They are very sweet ... Loving the boofy looking little one in the middle picture- Zeuss And Sophie
hahaha @ the spikey blue necklace You have the most beautiful bubs Karen..- New Aviary
I'm sad to hear about the little baby boy although as you said, at least he is back with his mother now :ausb: hahaaa i can so picture you 'smuggling" baby roos over the border I'm mid process of extending my back garden so maybe in time i will consider being a "foster mum" again it is VERY rewarding seeing the wee lil ones grow up- Runny Poos
Could it be stress really? If there seems to be no other possibilities eg:diet etc etc- This Is Neat

Oh looks like i need to go out and find a weird blue dog to adopt Actually im in the process of adopting two rescue guinea pigs from Brisbane :hap: they have had a REALLY rough life and even eye damage as a result.. but im just soooo inlove with them already and i havent even got them yet.. Their names are Bandit and Lil Button, both boars- Help Needed-i Have A Baby Budgie Abandoned By Mum
Crop massage is very tricky and needs to be done carefully as it is very easy to aspirate the baby in the process. You need to make ABSOLUTE sure that the crop is NOT pushed up while massaging as this will cause the chick to aspirate the food which can result in aspiration pneumonia or immediate death. GOOD LUCK- New Aviary
Sweet little baby.. I have raised many baby kangaroos about this size that have survived and grew up into beautiful although cheeky adults Im keeping my fingers crossed for him.. Good luck with him ellulah.. Your aviarys look great also :hap:- More Pics
Very Sweet I never seem to have much luck with such dramatically aged chicks in a nesting box, my little ones ALWAYS get squished by the older ones which is so sad ( i tend to always just remove the older ones now and handraise them instead) Good luck with them all, they are way cute- Buddy Is Back!
Oh WOW.. he is SUPER Pretty, his colourings are absolutely beautiful.. add a tinge of pink and you could call him Sunset :hap: I love him- Bobbyness Flock-can You Help With Colours?
Cute birds ..- Mr Sexy Blinks
AWww Can I have him? (Laughing out loud) i've always had such a soft spot for little Blinks and his oh too sweet ways.. Oz has turned into a real little stunner too, Looks a whole heap more "boofy" than Blinks does which i'm sure Blinky likes :hap: I remember he wasn't very impressed when the vet once told him he was **in hushed tones** overweight (not that i'm saying Oz is chubby hahaaa) its just he looks to be a bigger bird all over. Okay ill keep hushed now HAHAAAAA- Broken Feathers
A stress line is only there PURELY because of stress (eg: being taken out of the nesting box) and nothing more so No its not contagious to the rest of the flock.. I just done a google of "feather stress lines" and it came up with a few good articles talking about it so maybe give that a go to gain some more information on this.. I really hope that this is the reason for the breakages and yeah they are horizontal lines were the feather looks rather well umm broken and weak but yeah its only in a line across the feather and the rest of the feather looks normal Hope all is going good Cheers  Una- Just Apple...
Its only right that the dog should talk too since she hears Hello being said ALL THE TIME .. She chokes trying to get it out sometimes though but yeah its cool having so many animals to greet me verbally when I arrive home- Custard And Pudding...7 New Babies
OMG hahahaaaa Thats too funny Well i can see where she is coming from though That Custard is a bit of an alright hehee he is a stunner- Just Apple...
