  1. Oh Thank GOODNESS for that.. His parents were having HUGE problems and all the chicks were really dehydrated and not really healthy when i pulled them in so I'm not surprised its nutritional.. I'm excited for some reason that he is a she YAY ... awww gosh I'm totally somehow even more smitten with HER now ma lil baby girl Ill have to get a photo of HER sibling which we always call He and see what sex s/he is also.. I'm not good at it in pieds until they are at least a few years old and its REALLY obvious
  2. Hello All.. I'm a little unsure about one of my bubs (buddy) and would like some advice/thoughts.. Buddy was plucked from the nest while still featherless along with his sibling, the heat here was knocking them off like flies.. and hes been inside being hand raised.. Ive lost track of exactly how old he is (bad me) although i took this photo of him on October the 5th (not sure if that helps) Hes the one in the middle Anyway as hes got his feathers through they are not quite "normal" and rather tatty looking.. I was wondering if this was French Moult or something else i may not be aware of eg:diet? He and his sibling who has feathered up normal are being raised on Vetafarm Neocare .. This is Buddy today His lil feathers have a sort of twisted up almost dry tatty look to them.. I'm thinking French moult but unsure.. Sorry about the photo quality, i hope they are enough for you too see whats going on Oh and also all of his body is pretty bald still except for a few tatty feathers on his back and his "fluffies" Any input will be greatly appreciated
  3. simply adorable.. Congratulations
  4. http://www.australiancavysanctuary.com/index2new.html The Australian Cavy Sanctuary is a great place.. I have adopted four boars from them a while ago and still support them.. They also do interstate adoptions oh and also have a GREAT Forum so you can chat with like minded piggy peoples
  5. OUCH hahaaa HAVE FUN Sounds like its all covered... (Or uncovered) hehee
  6. I love that i can snuggle with them all and they all say "I Love You" to me.. Actually i also love when they try and feed me, yeah i know its not everyones ideal way to spend an afternoon with seed being spat in your face and shoved between your lips BUT.. gosh its so cute :hap: hahaaa I wouldn't trade those moments for anything..
  7. Looks like its going to be GREAT You mentioned a wood floor? Just make sure there is no gap underneath as this would be the most perfect environment for rats and mice to breed.. My parents had this issue MANYYYY moons ago (Laughing out loud).. I remember them ripping up the floor, my dad squealing like a girl and me about 3 yrs old running about with a bucket catching as many "pets" as i could
  8. I agree with Elly.. you still need to make an avian vet appointment just to do a double check of the situation.. As mentioned also, they have the ability to "perk" up quite quickly but sometimes thats just the begining of the roller coaster ride thats going to start slipping back down FAST.. Please seek medical advise and keep us posted
  9. Im afraid to say it but id be setting strictly down with the parents "MY House.. MY RULES! and if you are unhappy about that, Leave and come back when your children have manners" hahaaa. I dont think id hesitate in telling them off when it comes to the welfare of other living things, and yeah if the parents didnt stand beside me, id be telling them all to get nicked Maybe im just a tough old boot
  10. Awww Total CUTENESS! Wish my guys would let me Head Scritch them.. Im allowed Kisses and Snuggles but NO Head Scritches You are Lucky..
  11. The photos are absolutly adorable.. Your captions made me giggle and matched the photos perfectly Making me want to go and splash about with my birds now ...
  12. Hahaaa that made me go back for a second look Its BEAUTIFUL .. can i have it? teehee
  13. Awww thats beautiful.. Its so nice when they respond willingly to your affection Lets just hope it continues.. If you continue to smooch and say I love you to her, she will learn to associate the mooshy feelings with the I love you phrase and realize its a great thing Sooo CUTE !!
  14. I FULLY get what your saying about being "FORCED" into painting something, was my mothers Birthday in February and she really wanted a painting and i felt pushed into doing her one, I just was NOT feeling creative and as a result she ended up with a painting i was really less than impressed with although she absolutely loves it and has placed it in the lounge for everyone to see ARGGHHH .. Okay now by no means am i any good at painting to begin with but thought id show you a few Ive done anyways.. This is the horrid painting mum "FORCED" me to do hahaaa.. Its meant to be the middle of a flower.. here are a few Icky others.. some sketches that i did a while ago.. All the others are not suitable to be posted on here .. My ugly oil pastel Skulls And my odd looking ceramic birds hahaaa http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a289/una...60737Custom.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a289/una...60722Custom.jpg HOPEFULLY they all resized nicely down like i asked them ever so kindly to do .. If not SORRY.. I didn't trust the last two links so changed them
  15. OMG hahahaaaa What a Crack Up Sounds like you had fun if nothing else Kaz hahaaa.. The new car look really nice.. perhaps drool worthy Im still trying to decide since im not a car buff to begin with (Laughing out loud).. Very nice anyways..
  16. Thats a sad story.. I just don't get why people would even RISK it if they were unsure to begin with.. I'm unsure on a lot of things so Ive simply just eliminated them from the scene.. We don't cook with Teflon anymore, We don't use cleaning chemicals except for vinegar but mostly just water, Candles are banned from the ENTIRE house, ALL Sprays and perfumes are banned (Laughing out loud) .. Oh only allowed to put deodorant on in the bathroom with the exhaust fan ON.. almost everything i use to do involved something stinky (candles, incense, mosquito coils, fly spray, Cleaning products even Makeup especially Kohl eyeliners that contain traces of lead) Its ALL GONE all ornaments even that i was unsure about, If i thought it may contain pewter basically anything that may have lead or zinc.. Its all gone.. and I know I'm doing everything possible to keep my babies safe.. I wish more people would take a little more thought and follow, Its really not Rocket Science **Sigh Thank you for posting the story, its an invaluable lesson RIP lil budgies, I'm upset you suffered so much for someones stupidity
  17. BAHAHAAAAAAAA Ermm CONGRATULATIONSSSSSS..
  18. Oh Gosh.. those wee lil foot prints are too darn CUTE Id be taking that as a good omen if the birds are attracted to it ALREADY although its not quite attracting the right birds as of yet hahaaa .. Looks Great so far, well as great as wet cement can get i guess
  19. EBAY (Laughing out loud) Put up a bidding for your talents and the winning bidder sends you a photo of the bird they want a cartoon picture of.. This way you can limit the amount of requests and postage to send out pictures is covered with a little bit extra cash to line your pockets Thats what id do if i could draw hahaaa.. REALLY loving your drawings and other creative talents.. I sketch a lil, paint a lil, dabble in ceramics a lil etc etc .. Nothing thrilling though hahaaaa
  20. http://www.eartheasy.com/live_natpest_control.htm Soem of the ideas may not be such a great idea for actually INSIDE the aviary but you could maybe take a few ideas to try around the outside of the aviary to stop them getting in to begin with :hap:
  21. Aww Shucks Thanks NickNack.. I just love ma lil guys and spend alot of time with thea lotm.. They have free run of the house although they know not to go down the bedrooms and they have access to the the cage at all times for time out but are only ever put in there to go to sleep at night, even then they put themselves in .. we always pull them all back out for goodnight cuddles and kisses though before covering them up heheee.. I'm glad you liked the videos.. the one with Munchy under the hair tie is one of my faves .. And the one with Apple bouncing and beeping.. actually i love them all hahah they have me constantly amused..
  22. »-(¯`Una´¯)-» replied to a post in a topic in Aviaries
Oh WOW.. I want.. Wahhh I cant wait for my aviary's to be built now
  23. Apple is such a cheeky lil boy.. You can see some of the videos on my Youtube account http://youtube.com/profile?user=unasaurus there are a few videos of different things but mostly the birds.. Don't look at the title as it was a response to another video but this is one of the most recent ones of Apple talking and this one i took only a few days ago of my Ringnecks talking I need to take a few more recent ones of Apple talking for you..
  24. THANKS UNA ....Isn't she a cockatiel??? I just got a couple yesterday ..... Hahahaa Yeah shes a Cockatiel .. One who thinks shes a Budgie though
  25. Hahaaa Actually she is really quite gentle.. I wouldn't trust her to stick her head in my mouth otherwise.. In the photos she had me in stitches of giggles which only made her play about even more .. she is such a silly sausage.. Thanks Daz.. It was a good wet season this year although not as good as it use to be 20 years ago.. The Peninsula Development Road is still closed to all traffic so we are all still feeling pretty remote with no car access in or out.. they are thinking the roads will be still closed for a few months yet.. Its still raining on and off which is good and this time around i had NO illnesses with the birds since they are all now in a patio aviary off the ground on the back patio.. I NEVER want to go through and i hope nobody here ever has to go through the nightmare i had to last wet season.. Kaz was my life saver and a few birds were saved because of the help and the information that she supplied for me.. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Kaz {Hugs} that was such a depressing time for me..
