  1. Hello Poida, welcome to the forum, so sorry to hear your news. As Bea and Pixie say it would be a good idea to get an avian vets advice on this matter to rule out any nasty disease. Thoughts are with you.

Thought are with you, sorry to hear your sad news, Sunny will be missed. I can relate as we've had a few budgies that had similar symptoms but not as quick a loss. Again so sorry to hear your news.
  3. I have to say Good. I hope the ban is enforced with regard to the import of wild birds which is what the government is trying to do. Then keep it permanently, there are enough breeders in each country to satisfy demand. The horrible trade in wild birds must be stopped. Please everyone never buy a wild caught bird, horrible that over 500 parrots/sofbills where culled because of a stupid company importing wild birds. They should start culling those companys and the people involved. http://www.guardian.co.uk/birdflu/story/0,...1598102,00.html

  14. And with our social and transport systems it will spread faster, mutate quicker and kill a lot more. It's now in Greece http://www.guardian.co.uk/birdflu/story/0,...1594142,00.html

Welcome to the forum nina. It sounds like he is going through a very heavy moult, like the good advice already been given kept him warm, away from drafts and try and keep him in a constant temperature. Also limit his time in light as this can trigger excessive moults. The runny droppings are a bit of a concern, if you're not able to get to see an avian vet immediately then get a Johnsons Avol Mixture (M025) as an interim fix from a local pet shop.

Very unusual, I've known a few budgies who hang upside down on perches, but never for long amounts of time. It could be a behavioural problem, an injury or an illness, a good avian vet will be able to help. Ask the breeder if they know of any problems when he/she was a baby.
  17. What about the Corgi's
  18. Featheredpets replied to a post in a topic in Budgie News/Facts
    Great story.
  19. Try some millet this can be quite fattening, don't over do it though as you don't want to put your budgie off it's normal food. Good luck with finding Spark, I haven't been able to find out any further details about it yet.

Donate the eggs to another local breeder Or find someone to raise them for you.
  22. That would be good news, lets hope it works and they vaccinate enough birds in time before it mutates again.
