American Budgie? Isnt that the same thing as just budgie? Isnt it correct to say: Australian Budgie (as that is where budgies are really from also wild budgies) Show/exhibition budgie (budgies put into shows and stuff) English budgie (different colours due to the climate) I dont believe there is such thing as an Amercian Budgie. ?

To much sandpaper will grind the nails and feet down to dangerous levels.

Yes, hath, I agree. I do give my budgies grit. Lots of people say that budgies dont need girt as they have dehusked the seed.

I would strongly advise to NOT to use salt. If in an emergency and you have nothing else, I guess a very very very dilute solution may be administered. I have just heard of someone doing that, it caused the bird so much pain that it died. It is really up to what you want to do.

salt is a very good disinfectant as well as a good healer. my avian vet told me i could use salt if my budgie injured itself and it's wound needed cleaning. As an exprianced breeder, and the same information coming from other vets that I know of, that is something you never do. Rainbow is very right.

When you look at it, its violet. It usualy is the camera/your screen that changes the colour.

Did anyone say about putting corn flour on the wound? That will stop it within 2 mins. Cornflower is what you use to stop the budgies bleeding. Who said salt? NEVER EVER use salt on a budgie's wound!

Ive noticed that you keep posting the same thing over and over. This is creating work and wasting space on the forums. This is how forums work, you post, wait, wait more, then you may get an answer. By posting the same thing in different theads and topics, you are just confusing members and making staff mad, as they have to do more work editing and merging posts and topics arround the forums. So, in the future, please post once and wait untill you get a reply as if there is no members on at the time you post, your question isnt going to get answered any faster if you post it 10 times in another section.

Why would breeders give their good show budgies away for cheap prices in petshops? Im in the breeding game, and how we do it is to either get rid of budgies or remove problem ones. The petshops pay a small fee for our birds.
