is my bird o.k
I for one don't think silly or sarcastic comments have any place in a Forum such as this. I am too busy running a business to respond to it. For those readers who are interested, Bumble Foot is a problem with the nerves of the foot which results in inflammation which in turn will cause obvious distress to the bird. A bird that gets a bacterial infection in the foot through a cut may also be in distress and its foot may get inflammed. In this case anti-biotics may be the best way to treat this. However, the only thing in common here is the word "inflammation". Bumble Foot does not need a bacterial infection to start. Quite frankly, I don't know how a bird would get it. It is internal and I repeat, it is an issue of the inflammation of the nerves in the foot. To the issue of perch sizes. Different diameter perches will positively help in preventing your bird getting cramps, as it will be getting plenty of foot and toe exercise. "Cramps" does not equate to "Bumble Foot". As I said before, the best perches you can provide your bird with is non-toxic natural branches and if you can get these, please clean, wash and dry them thoroughly before fitting them into the cage. As I also said before I don't know if Emma's bird has Bumble Foot and if in doubt about anything one should always seek the advice of an experienced Bird Veterinarian. IF a bird has Bumble Foot, then massaging is one very beneficial treatment. In all cases however, seek the advice of a Bird Veterinarian. I think this will be my last post on this topic. Finally, I choose my words very carefully and would appreciate not being mis-quoted or having my comments taken out of context. Ive just been reading here. I dont want to read any sarcastic comments here. Some members are not being as friendly as they can be. Budgeover just be careful please as people can take offence.

Here is a story for you!
Well I as usual I was on the Forums doing some work and I heard a sort of loud bang. I thought nothing about it. Now you see I put my pet budgies outside on good days for them to get some fresh air and sunlight. Later on I strolled into my lounge room and looked outside onto the courtyard around the pool and found the cage tipped on its side and the door slightly open. Now I ALWAYS peg the cage doors down, but the cage fell onto the window snapping the peg. Anyway, my pets are gone! I felt sick from the realisation. The wind must have reflected off the window and pushed the cage over or something to that effect. This has never happened before and never thought it would on a calm day! I look over at the clothesline and there is Jessie sitting on it in the open! I just walked over to her slowly and told her to hop (get on my finger) and I put the net over my hand and ran inside, placing her back into the other cage. (I have 2 cages). Mickey, up in the tree was way too high to reach and he isn?t as tame. If I went to him, he would be gone. I went inside to see if he came back down towards Jessie who I now took outside in a cage again to attract Mickey?s attention. No luck. Five minutes later I get a call from a friend down the road saying have you lost a bird? ?Our dog is barking at it?. I ran as fast as I could across the road and climbed up a tree with the assistance of a fold out ladder, used my net and got a lucky hit! I had got my 2 pets back! That was one experience for me! I wanted to share this with others as you all share your experiences with me.

tips of 1st time breeders?
Be carefull about "coz" as that is a text shorcut and they are BANNED on this site. If its done again we will warn you as we are cracking down on the use of them.
-
Budgietalk.com
naw, not the name, just our address. We need to have a propper address.
-
Budgietalk.com
Whats wrong with that? When you link to another site you do it correctly. Well, I had it that way at first but it was insanely long and seeing as the heading is "Budgie Forums" I didn't feel that "budgie community forums" was necessary. It just looks a bit odd with such a long link. If you could give me some alternative way to shorten it that would be great. I'll change the address in the meantime. Cool, thats okay. How about: The Australian Budgerigar Breeders Forums That cool? Also, I wil contact you regarding our new address, as we are moving in the next few days to a week.

Budgietalk.com
Picky picky! Just kidding. It only makes sense to use the site's proper name, thanks for letting me know! [/lazyness] LOL, you still dont have it correct! You have The Australian Budgerigar Breeders Club Inc We are : The Australian Budgerigar Breeders Club Inc Budgie Community Forums Not wanting to be mean, but when you do link to someones site you usually use the correct name. (plus our address is www.budgiebreeders.asn.au/forums/, so please change that) Thanks
-
Budgietalk.com
How nice of you Thankyou for that. Just if you could change the link text to show: The Australian Budgerigar Breeders Club Inc Budgie Community Forums that would be much apprciated. As that is our correct site name. Nice site and I hope it will be successfull for you
