okay, This is how I build my nest boxes: (the little thing that the birds lay eggs in) Dimensions: Front 200mm high x 160mm wide x 220 deep Material: Front and back panels 9mm thick craft wood. Sides 4mm thick (masonite) or craft wood. Bottom and top 9mm thick Top used as lid hinged by nailing through the sides, overlapping depth of nest box as finger grip to open for inspection and cleaning. Drill 10mm holes for ventilation. Entrance hole 50mm in diameter ? up from bottom. Preferably painted on completion for easy cleaning. Small perch 10mm dowel just below entrance hole. CONCAVES Fit false bottom into the nest box with 100 mm circular saw cut out. (the thing circle saw thing that you put onto the end out the drill. Hope this helps, need anything clarified, reply to this post

  7. I had these interesting facts emailed to me by a friend. Not sure where he got them from. The average Budgie has three eyelids, an upper, a lower and a third which pulls across to protect it's eyes!!! The budgie with the biggest Vocabulary was Puck, owned by Camille Jordan who was estimated to have learned 1,728 words by the time he passed away in Jan 1994! Did you know that the oldest recorded pet Budgie lived to the age of 29 years and 2 months! Perhaps the most famous talking Budgie was Sparkie Williams who had a repetoire of eight nursery ryhmes, 360 different phrases and a vocab of 550 words. He died in 1962 after becoming a star after selling 20,000 copies of his record and featuring in so many radio programmes!
  8. I think rectangle. More room for the bird to fly and climb around.
