It is always tough, trust me, I know. I am putting the loss of all my little ones in this thread, from say pages 2- 4 of this thread, I am putting that all down to a mouse infestation I became aware of. I am still unsure of whether that little one is an opaline or not. Sometimes i think that the down is white and sometimes I think it is grey. I will just have to wait and see what happens. I am hoping that he/she is not an opaline. Shannon - thanks for that. Link to comment

Each cage has an ice cream container with some paper in the bottom and some millet in it for the little ones. Pair 1 - Grey Cock and a Grey Green Spangle Hen Chick 1 - Monster - he is looking sleeker and has some good posture when he perches Chick 2 - Normal Grey - the photo makes this one look a bit like a cinnamon win, but I am thinking normal grey. No dilution of body colour. Chick 3 - Opaline Grey - you can see a lot of white on the head Pair 2 - Green Dominant PiedOpaline/Lutino Cock and Cinnamon Wing Grey Green Hen 1 Chick - a light green opaline Hen with a very clear mantle Pair 3 - Green Spangle Cock and a GreyGreen Hen Chick 1 - Green Normal Hen Chick 2 - Green Normal Cock Link to comment

Why is it that when we lose a good bird, it is always a hen? You might have to check what you are feeding, they may be to fat,was it a young hen or had she layed before. There could be any number of reasons for the prolaspe. Link to comment

Small, but still young. I think she might only have fledged as mum might have chased her from the nestbox. Perches well though. 1 grey opaline normal hen - Larger than older sister - I have placed her in an ice cream container on the cage floor. Pair 2 - Solo Dad Light Green opaline dommine pied/lutino cock (mother deceased light green cinnamon winged hen) - 1 chick light green opaline hen - very clear mantle Pair 3 - Light Green Spangle Cock and GreyGreen Normal Hen (Darkest GreyGreen I have ever seen so I thinking she has 2 Dark Factors) - 2 chicks dark green normal hen dark green normal cock Link to comment

As for the pics, they were taken on my iphone, as as great as that toy is, the camera, without a flash, is average. Link to comment

I will take some new tomorrow but at the moment I will just give you an update. The young ones were put into a kindy cage and they are all doing well, except the youngest little grey opaline hen who is still young. She is small and is yet to build her wing muscles enough to fly. She is eating on her own, chirping away, but is yet to fly. Parents have all had some time on their own and this morning they were all checked over and then returned to the aviary. The breeding aviary is being cleaned up and the young will go in there tomorrow hopefully. My next big thing is to look at which birds I am going to cull. A have a few thoughts. Link to comment
