Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum and feeling very very happy to come across such a wonderful forum with full wealth of information on Budgie. Also to have such a huge number of very helpful and experienced bird owners/breeders at one place.

Good that atleast now I am part of this Budgie family and will all keep going together.

Okay coming to the actual topic "Anatomy of Budgie", I feel everyone should atleast know about various external parts of a Budgie. I was seriously looking for one on the net and finally after lot of search I found the below useful url:

http://www.birds-online.de/gesundheit/gesa...anatomie_en.htm

I have checked in the FAQ section and unable to find one, so thought of sharing with everyone. Probably we should also have to add similar one to FAQ section with small description of each part or atleast pictorial representation of the same. Looks like above page is protected by the copyright law.

Thanks for your time and reading my lengthy post. :P;):P

Thanks for your responses.

Regarding pictures of my birds, I don't have a digital camera and also I have my birds in my home town, where my father is taking care of them. I am forced to leave my birds due to my work nature and also where presently living no one is there to care of them when away to work.

Really miss them and frequently keep calling to know about them. Will try to get you guys few snaps of them.

I have couple of few more ideas for FAQ sections and will try to take it up one by one. :D

great suggestion, I will have ask ADMIN or any of our G. Mods if they have one they can share for our FAQ section.
Any ideas when we can expect to see one in our FAQ section, since my worry is that even this time we may miss this out like earlier. So thought of following up and will keep following on this.

If some one directs me, then probably I can privately be in touch with the concerned person.

Moderators please feel free to let me know if I could be helpful in some way or the other in preparing this.

Congrats Libby, Maesie and Birdluv and happy to see you all as Global Moderators.

Thanks for the congratulations! Additons into the FAQ's can take time (depending on what they are and if we have the info already to go) . We will work on getting something in there.

We have been discussing it the issue is to get a picture without copying or asking permission to use the picture in our FAQ section.

I have an idea. How about I make one? I was already in the process of doing one about the organs and air sacs, it would be simple for me to extend it to surface anatomy etc.

First thanks for all of your responses.

To be frank I was feeling little embarrassed and guilty conscious since last two days after my previous post regarding followup, I was thinking that you people might have taken it in other way, so only no one was responding and I shouldn't have done this in the first place. But now after seeing all of your such wonderful and encouraging responses, now I am feeling very much relieved. I am really thankful to god for showing me such a wonderful forum with full of excellent and great people.

My intension was that this excellent forum no doubt is already having very good collection of most of the required articles in FAQ section, but I felt that may be very few articles (say 1 or 2) were missing which might be very helpful for all the new members or beginners like me, for which I was really struggling to find one on the net. So addition of these missing articles to our FAQ section will finally make all the necessary articles to be available at one place.

At any point of time if you people feel that I could be helpful in some way, please feel free to let me know and I will be very much happy to do. :)

Once again I am really thankful for all your time and assistance. :)

We have been talking about it behind the scenes and Kaz had said maybe she could do it if you woulc PM her and figure all the details we would love to have you get something started for sure :). If you do it for the FAQ and it is a picture it will need to be uploaded because the FAQ load just like posts on the forum. I added FAQ's so you can send to me when completed it will be reviewed and we will add.

Here's what I was talking about.

I made these last year and was planning to finally get my anatomy/physiology thread up and running this year. These are just examples:

Basic anatomical terminology:

body1.jpg

appendages.jpg

body2.jpg

These are my photos and I can easily update them for use on this site.

The next one is my photo and work but the terminology came mostly from one book as well as some internet sites. There might be a breach of copyright here. So if I remade this image with terms straight off my head (plus it will have more now that it's been a year of study) it would be free for this site to use.

surface.jpg

Other images I was was making: feather names (especially wings), labelled skeleton, important muscles, respiratory system, digestive system, urogenital system.

Awsome Chrysocome! It looks like you've put in some hard work already. I can't wait to see them all finished and in our FAQ's. Please let me, or any other Mods know if we can be of any assistance. :(Laughing out loud):
