New here

 

We started with 2 birds for the kids and we got hook on them so we got 2 more ( for us (Laughing out loud) :feedbirds: )

we wont to start breeding when the birds are ready but we don't know anything about it

 

Heres a picture of our birds

 

Heres my bird and I'm not shore about the cere its a funny color is this normal ?

I think you have 2 males/cocks and 2 females/hens

 

The cere is fine it means shes probably not in breeding condition since it's kind of light.

 

The Male 2 the far right looks like his cere is brighter.

Your budgies are just beautiful, welcome to both you and your feathered family members! I am hopeless at sexing budgies but somebody will show up soon to assist. Good thing that you are holding off breeding until you get all the necessary information and you have come to the right place. There are many topics that outline the breeding process, nest boxes and materiels for them, taking care of babies, health problems and food and nutrition. You already seem to have the taming and bonding process down pat! Gorgeous birds did you get them all at the same place? I ask because of this they could be sibling the 2 on the end look very similar to each other but then 2 that look nothing like each other could be sibling too.

 

Budgies breed fairly easy the issues are usually when they have bred what you will do with the chicks, what if the chicks have to be hand feed could you do that and other issues that potentially could happen in the nesting box.

 

I encourage you to read the real life journals here of some of breeders such as sailorwolf (who just started), bubbles (who has been breeding longer), shawna (who just started). bea (who has bred before) and many others this will give you an idea of what can or could happen.

Hi and Welcome to the forum. To me it looks like you will have a busy cock. The one on the right. I can't make out the cere colouring of the two centre ones. on my screen they are a chocolaty bluey colour. Possibly two females.

 

The Opaline Skyblue is coming into season. That is why her cere is turning tan. How old are the birds.

the 2 on the end ones came from to different places one from about 80km to the north of were we live and the other about 40kms to the south of were we live but the other 2 on the left did come from the same place but the breeder said they wernt related

from the photos it looks like the one on the far right is a male , the other three on the left looks like female .

Welcome. Your birds are very pretty although I must say the ceres puzzle me on some of them. They look bluish brown. Read lots about breeding before you begin. I had my budgies a year first to make sure they were old enough and to gather as much info as possible. I still ended up with questions after I got started. Budgies are addictive aren't they

Yes you have three hens and a cock. If you pair the the cock to oneof the other spangles you may end up with double factor spangles.

I haven't been breeding very long or had much to do with budgies until about 3 years ago. I have found doing plenty of reading and internet searches and talking to people its the best way. One of the best books that I read that covers just about everything is a book called Cult of the Budgerigar by Watmough & Blake, the other which have help are The Complete Book of Budgerigars by John Scoble and and bit more in depth is Genetics for Budgerigars Breeders by Taylor & Warner, depending how far in depth you want to go. I have also found this forum (to which I'm new too) is an excellent source of advice and information.

If you look in the Budgie Mutations, Varieties and Genetics area of the board there are pinned topics titled Members' "something" Budgies. There are MANY pictures there to look over.

 

As to your birds, I'm not 100% sure that you have three hens. The second one is is very puzzling, the cere on the edge is a pink/purple colour and around the nares I don't see a lot of white or tan around.

 

Also I was think your male on the right was a greywing not a spangle (no spangle markings on the under tail)

 

Your hen on the left may be younger than you think, I can have 2-4 month old babies looking like that. If you don't know their exact ages it's best to guess a bit younger than you think.
