The "pied Spot"
Sorry about that I ment to say A bird that is a dom pied can still be split to recessive. Thats right any bird can be split.. But do we not call them dom just because of the recessive spot. I think the bird that looks like the dom pied bird should be called dom, but the bird that is a normal with the little head spot makes it eaiser for us to call them split, right?

Baby Identification
Well this was fun to read.. :(Laughing out loud): I liked it heaps.. But I thoughtr you said you only had 2 possiable spangles.. :hap: Then you pull another one from your hat.. :(Laughing out loud): Well is that all your spangles then? I know everyone has only looked at fathers a hen could have layed in the nest you just never know when you colony breed.. She is a cutie.. At least the last spangle has more of a chance to being the dad than the other 2.

Breeding Budgies.
Hi your budgies are very cute..:hap: Can I just ask if your perchers move a little when the birds jump on them? They look thin so if they do you may have to get thicker ones or make them sturdy with some wire or something. Personally I would make them thicker your birds will have better grip to mate on..

What Do You Think I Have?
Sorry to hear about your french moult Norm The YF gene you have been talking about well the Yf will only stay one the face if the birds are Type 1. Type 2 YF DF spangles the yellow will bleed through the body. I have YF DF spangles and they are gorgeous but all yellow.. Here are the boys when they are young here is a hen another male. The boys moulting. The boys now..

Violet Gene
Isn't it carried on the dark factor having 2 dark factors. You breed a Violet to a sky and you get cobalts and violets. Not sure about the sky though as the violet would give a dark factor all the time having 2. Your male does not look like a spangle joey.. Have you got a closer shot of him?

Mutation Identification Help Please
Can we have a picture of the parents please? There marking look more recessive to me they both have the orange beek and the pink feet as well. I know they can change to the normal beek colour.. But I will say 1.. Grey Opaline recessive pied. ( I can see what you mean about the spot daz so could be dom.) 2.. YFT2 violet spangle recessive pied.
