  1. Here's some photos i took of the newbies yesterday - i gave them all a light clip so i could get them out safely without then going insane and it worked a charm. They can still fly really good (they must have been ultra strong flyers in the first place!!!) but not fast enough to hurt themselves and not high enough to get stuck on a cupboard or something. I'm stick training them and they're perfectly happy to sit on a piece of dowel i was using to get them from place to place - they were even okay sitting on my fingers and shoulder for a short time. Yahtzee in particular has a cute attitude, she's very confident and doesn't get scared. Dom is the shy guy, so cute and hides behind his sisters. Jenga just likes sitting and looking angry at me for talking to them in a baby voice. :glare: Anyway, here's some photos of them: Sitting on their cage Yahtzee looking cute Yahtzee on my shoulder Yahtzee on my finger Zee and Jenga on my finger All three on my brothers little basketball hoop - i have a feeling that's Dom trying to squeeze between his sisters Hanging out Domino and Jenga Same again They're real little cuties, all with cute little attitudes. I'm not going to push the taming thing with them, i'm just happy if they'll come out to play together everyday. :ausb:
  2. That's amazing!
  3. Thanks! Glad you like it. :budgiedance:

It's great to see all the budgies again, poor sexy Paris with no girlfriend.

They'll be joining the aviary after the others have finished breeding.
  6. Remember Blondie, Gherkin's opaline daughter. She had to be female because she's opaline and neither parent were but look how male her cere looked. I guess there are some budgies whose ceres just don't fit what we know.
  7. In the second thread she especially looks male!

I picked the names last night but didn't want to say so until i was sure they suited. Luckily they did.
  9. Do you have another photo of Taz when she was little? I'm curious cause i'm not certain of the sex of one of my new babies so i'm wondering what it looked like to make everyone think male.

:(Laughing out loud): Love the logic behind the name!!

A career in photography would be excellent! It's so much fun.
  13. Haha, how funny that it's a fault! I also think it looks really cute!

Leanne just brought the little baby greys around and they're settling in nicely in my bedroom. As promised here are photos of......Yahtzee, Jenga and Domino!!

I guess i didn't really have enough space to be able to place them like that. If they had of had hooks it would've been better cause i could've hung them around the place.

Nope, i can't see the point in leaving the nest boxes there and waiting for a budgie to be killed. I thought it would work better with the extra nest boxes but i guess not.

I'm glad you think so! I'm sure they'll love it out there with my budgies.
  18. Blinkie doesn't hump hands (he flirts with the though) but he humps his rope perches.

I've taken the nest boxes out - we have a few minor injuries now and i'm not going to wait for one of them to be life threatening. So out came the nest boxes. I still have the 2 breeding cages out there (Akala and Bob, Gherk and Tiki) so hopefully i'll still get some bubs.
  20. :(Laughing out loud): Gay budgies seem to be very common, in fact since i set my budgies up for breeding i've noticed one gay couple become extra kissy and lovey despite the fact that there are ladies without boyfriends!! Your budgies are absolutely gorgeous.

Maybe you could try a different style water dish (like an actual bowl), if you're already having to change the water bottle a few times a day then you could even save time with a bowl. And i'm sorry but when you described the seed floating up i had to laugh - it sounds so funny!!

    What's a suet cage?
  23. Woah!! That boy is massive!!
  24. Second last one looks hilarious!! They're all great photos, especially the first with all of them flying.

Here's some photos of what's happening in the aviary. I did some shuffling around today because a couple of the ladies were pairing up with their bros. So we now have a jail cage, a breeding cage and then 8 nest boxes placed around the aviary. Akala and Bob in the breeding cage Asparagus and DimSim have taken a liking to the boxes sitting on top of the breeding cage Others like the look of these ones And Gherkin and Tiki like the looks of these ones Gherkin not paying attention while his wife inspects the potential new family home Gherkin: hey, where did my wife go? Tiki: Hehehe YOU stole her didn't you! Oh how embarrassing - never mind, i found her.
