  1. Chucky seems to have a lot of personality packed into her small body! She's a hottie too! <<---- sorry, Blinkie hijacked my keyboard.
  2. Not sure what made me think of this but in showing are some mutations harder to get to show standard? Or not rated so highly in shows? Like is it harder to get a winning pied than normal?
  3. I answered That had nothing to do with me. Then you took off. ************************************* Because this Beautiful unfortunate chick has a normal sister she shouldn't have the chance to see if she could have normal chicks her self. If will be telling everyone that sees or wants to buy her chicks of her brother. To the first bit - i took that to mean that those views were yours also, you have to admit it sounds terrible worded like that. To the second bit - birds don't crave children and a family like humans so that's hardly a fair comparrison. My mum also has a genetic disability and not once did i take offence to the comments made here by anyone in that respect and i would never associate the two, birds and humans are hardly something that can be compared in my opinion - except in the sense that a life is a life, regardless of species, i love my birds like they're family.
  4. That is just such a great attitude to breeding that one doesn't hear all that much. That goes back to the purpose of breeding *should* be to better a breed, it's often not something people think about. It's really great to hear someone thinking about it.

    Blinkie look alikes!!
  6. You should get a spot on treatment from the vet called Ivermectin. One spot at the back of the neck on the affected budgie and any who have been near it, then repeat the treatment 2 weeks later. Simple as that. If you look at the sticky topics in this forum you will see a before and after scaly face posted by me, ivermectin works really well.
  7. He sure is hungry!! And noisey.
  8. Well Buzz (right) was recessive pied and she's got even more markings than Lilly. I've seen heaps of recessive pieds marked in this way. To me Lilly seems to have markings not typical of a dominant pied.
  9. Poor little mite. You should take him inside as a pet budgie so he can have tons of love during his probably short life - that's what i'd do.
  10. And muscular, don't forget that.
  11. Recessive - her markings are lower down on her body which is an indicator of recessive pied. Her wing markings are quite patchy, another indicator of recessive pied and also she's got few markings on her head - another indicator.
  12. I don't have any poofy heads. :hap: I like George though!! He's cute.
  13. So what, is it just to make sure they're happy to be in the show cage? And that they'll perch and not sit in the corner?
  14. There's a lot of names - no Blinkie and no Oswald (or Ozzie). Cookie was there though. :hap:
  15. I thought Boris went out to the aviary. :hap: Anyway, (Laughing out loud), obviously she's inside now and she looks very happy with her new buddy there. Opal looks like a lovely bird too!
  16. *hugs* He'll adapt to having it on, he'll be getting around happily with it on in no time. Poor little baby. Is he still separated or is he with the others? What do they think of his new leg warmer.
  17. Poor little guy. He doesn't look like a happy boy - how long does the splint have to stay on?
  18. You know, i frequently think that! :(Laughing out loud):
  19. I'm glad he's fine! I bet he looks funny with a little split on! Give him 2 kisses from me now for being a good boy at the vets.
  20. I bet Scott will love that! Pay the vet bills and then spoilt him with more new toys. Give Bobby a kiss from me when he gets home.
  21. Awww! I love him! What a gorgeous budgie!

Is she a recessive pied (has splotchy markings) if she is then this is totally normal. Also if she's all yellow or white with black eyes this would be normal too (for a dark eyed clear).
